A cleaning staff entered directly to my room without knocking door while I was sleeping. Also there was no fridge, no bottle of water, no slipper in the room.

The room was cold and I tried, via the thermostat to increase temperature, After 2 hours, was still cold. when asked at reception, told was because on summer setting and heat came from radiator (switched off) under window. Could have done with knowing this beforehand.

The hotel seemed very well looked after, however particularly in the bathroom the cleanliness was not great at all - initially saw a few cobwebs and went on to notice a lot of grime and dirt.

Bed was very comfortable, located on a busy road but could barely hear the noise and didn't affect my sleep. Heated radiator in the bathroom was lovely to have a warm towel

the service at breakfast has deterioted since i last stayed there a year ago; i understand that it is easier at weekend for there to be changes as the hotel is catering for more guests but i felt the service at weekend breakfasts fell below the expected standard for the price paid; the plates for the cooked breakfast were cold so the food didn't stay warm for long; i was there for a conference - for the price we paid the hotel was supposed to supply a self service machine for hot drinks plus biscuits etc; for the most part the machine wasn't working; the staff seemed ignorant and indifferent as to the provision of the machine for the group - on at least 3 occasions the machine was 'being cleaned' - this process seemed to last an inordinate length of time so drinks were not available as advertised; on one occasion people had made themselves drinks but were then told that the machine was going through another cleaning process and so no one should drink anything made - fortunately no one had drunk anything but it was very lucky that no one had consumed drinks tainted with cleaning materials - there was no notice on the machine to say it would be unsafe to have drinks at that point; lack of vegetables at the dinner

Was told the windows open but they actually didn't. Reception were not able to join two bookings even tho they said they could meaning I had to get up early to check out and check in tho I did get to keep the same room.

The room was very big and had everything you need. Air Con was good and nice to have a table and a comfy chair. Prefer a shower rather than shower over bath but still it was OK.
