Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomThe breakfast the first morning was a little low on food as we went closer to finishing time. The system ordering from the Chef seemed hit and miss as we had to wait quite some time for the veggie sausages and the avocado on toast. I also ordered porridge which really was not appetizing or tasty at all. The second day we went for breakfast earlier. The food was replenished but it was busy at the chef's pass so we didn't order anything. The hash browns were not good at all, they were soggy and floury.
The room was very comfortable and clean, I loved the complimentary slippers and robes. I had a bit of trouble turning on the air-con on the first night but managed it in the end, however i could not turn it on at all the second night for some reason. That aside the room was fabulous. The spa area was also lovely and most importantly clean.

United KingdomUnfortunately, despite the great experience the only thing that I could fault on alone would be the lack of a smart of a tv. Most hotels that I have experienced provide smart tv's with the option to cast your device but I was assured that I would be able to connect my HDMI cable. This unfortunately was not the case. This would be the only thing that changed my experience of the stay. However for those who wish to spend time away from the screens this wouldn't be an issue and would most definitely recommend the stay.
The room itself definitely exceeded my expectations. I had originally made the booking for a birthday surprise to which I made a request for a few balloons and cake. Upon entering the room I was extremely happy with the decoration and the guest experience team at the Montcalm made sure that everything was just as I had originally asked for. The amenities available at the hotel were amazing including the Spa and the restaurant. I would definitely recommend the continental breakfast!

GermanyThe electricity went out in my room (no lights or even curtain pulling possible without) in the morning. Called reception, they promised to send someone so I wouldn’t have to shower in the dark with a flashlight, sadly no one came. So I had to shower with my phone flashlight as the only light that day. They fixed it by evening but that day they didn’t clean my room. They did apologize after and tried to make it up with a bottle of wine, but I wish reception in such cases would not make promises they can’t deliver on. It seems when something truly goes wrong, the procedures are not equipped to handle it in a timely manner
Always a pleasure, a terrific choice for London for the most part super happy with the hotel.

GermanyParking in the area around Old Street is a bit challenging if you are travelling by car.
Modern and well designed hotel with fantastic staff. In particular the little thoughtful touches with children in mind was great. Extra bathrobes for the little ones, amenity kits for children, a board game in the room and much more. The breakfast was great and staff highly attentive throughout our stay!
