We initially booked a classic double room, room 14. The bathroom had damp/mould on the ceiling. On our way to the room, there was empty champagne bottles, and the steps outside of our corridor were filthy. The housekeeping really needs to be checked ( and double checked) prior to the scheduled 3pm checking time.

Due to the poor condition of our booked room (Room 14), we were moved to another room. The staff were very helpful.

Venison burger rather too salty for my taste, I did eat it though so not really an issue.

Breakfast was excellent, had a venison burger at dinner which was very salty (personal taste). Friendly efficient staff made us feel very comfortable.

The food was decent quality but as usual a 4 star hotel trying to hard to be really posh and leaving customers feeling hungry after paying an extortionate amount of money for a small meal!

A lovely stay in a gorgeousness location that ended up being a good spot for a rainy day. The room was excellent and the spa facilties lived up to the description. I would say that the food and drink was over priced though in the lounge, while at the same time offering a brilliant breakfast (included)

There are some stairs to climb before getting to the lift. The hotel had a stair lift that was out of order. We were at the hotel for 4 nights and the stair lift was still out of order. We had 2 large heavy suitcases so a working stair lift would have been appreciated.

The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel was well located, a short walk to Inveraray. There was ample parking.

Breakfast selection was extremely limited, particularly if you did not want a cooked breakfast from the buffet. Room was very tired and in need of redecorating/renovation. Hotel room prices were significantly higher than anywhere else we stayed on a 2-week Scotland trip and we judged not to be good overall value.

The dinner food in the restaurant was very good. Wide range of choice, good portions, well-prepared and reasonably priced. All staff were very friendly and helpful. View from the room was fantastic.

Hospitality staff in the restaurant area were'nt welcoming and came accross rude. Breakfast poached eggs were so undercooked I couldnt eat the breakfast - couldnt have a replcement and unfortunately werent reimbursed for the inedible breakfast.

Excellent spa facilities, the hot tub in the elements looking over the lodge was wonderful. Welcoming hosts, receptionists were brilliant help.

The range of options at breakfast was limited, especially the cold/continental breakfasts. The strange little elevator for the first few stairs seemed not to function the time we were there. A small wardrobe in the room would be welcome.

Quality of food at both breakfast and dinner was very good. The wait staff were accommodating and quiet.

Some staff seemed snooty and unfriendly and this left us feeling a bit uncomfortable. Not much choice for plant based diets. The photo's of men with guns in the restaurant wasn't great at all and found this really unsettling. It could have been the beautiful landscape and mountains which we were surrounded by, not representations of violence. Not very relaxing images to look at when eating especially if you love animals. It put me off coming back which is a shame.

Absolutely loved the spa. Possibly the most gorgeous and relaxing spa space I've ever been to. So lovely after getting cold and wet outside. Loved the decor and atmosphere in the spa and especially the salt room sauna and jacuzzi. Also was warm and cosy enough to sit by the pool on the comfy loungers and look at the view. Could have stayed in there all day! Some of the staff were really friendly and helpful (reception staff were great).

The room hadn't been cleaned. Stained bedsheets and the bins were full. Quite a lot of the surfaces were also stained.

They were excellent with our dog, they made us feel so welcome.

Deluxe family room had 2 double beds, I wish that the room was a bit more spacious.

Beautiful location. Staff were all very pleasant. Food lovely. Breakfast was served very promptly. Liked the idea of buffet plus cooked items brought out to you. Pool and hot tubs were excellent. Peaceful. Just what we were looking for. Will return.

The staff were excellent especially Niall at reception. The dinner and breakfast was exceptional and the pool and spa were first class. A great short break.
