Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI wasn't feeling well and the toilet was loud - only for a minute or two after flushing - can't be helped and didn't massively bother us, we just worried about disturbing neighbours while needing to use it in the night. Shower was OK for a few nights - glad we were told how to use it beforehand but still wasn't the best. Changed temperature or stopped randomly. We were asked on the first morning if we'd got on OK with it and we said yes as we both managed to shower so not the end of the world. Wouldn't stop us staying again.
The owner was so friendly and interesting. Really took time to show us how stuff worked and have a chat with us. Good recommendations. Felt very secure and the room key system was easy to use compared to some places we've stayed. Our room was super comfy and warm. Loved the size of the room and added extras like tea, water and Maltesers. Loads of space and the bed was so cosy- home from home. Perfect location, very near St Chad's tram stop andthe beachfront. Everything can be walked to. Took us maybe 15 mins to reach Central pier. Parked on crystal road which was a couple of minutes walk and £15 for 48 hours. We will stay here again next time we're in Blackpool

The soft bed. Slept like on cloud comparing to our bed in the living room at home.

United KingdomThe fan rattled and squeaked when the light was turned on so was irritating late at night, had to use the torch on my phone. Tea was typhoo, prefer Yorkshire tea but that's a location issue. Other than that brilliant.
Welcomed, really friendly, clean, down to earth host. Sanitised the house daily to ensure safety during covid. Even tho it says check in at 10 the train was delayed til 10:10pm and he still allowed us to check in at 10:30 without an additional fee. Option was there to have anything we wanted, books or board games but we only stayed one proper night so we weren't able to try this out. Location was brilliant, close to the sea front. Adult only so didn't have to worry about being disturbed by crying children. Twix was nice, coulda been a two stick twix tho 😉 Bed was really comfy, room was warm and had fast charging points as well. Tea making facilities was a good shout despite me not liking the tea on show.

United KingdomThe below are only comments to help others looking to book. I knew this anyway, but the parking can be difficult, the streets to the back of the main promenade are free for the weekend, just leave sometime to go around to find a space. I have noted other comments & generally would agree the proprietor is very particular about covid rules ( which aren’t actually government legislation & just recommended) & to be fair it does say on the booking under the COVID-19 notes what to expect. Masks are asked to be worn in the communal areas of the hotel. The bar/games room was available on request as it would need to be fully sanitised, as is the hotel between certain hours. A but extreme for my liking (only a personal view). Robert was very particular with rules and his stance on covid reflected that in the operation of his hotel. I just thought it was ironic as it says “adult only hotel”, but all of the above didn’t make you feel that way to be honest. Nice enough chap though.
Comfortable & Clean Good location Check out times are reasonable

Because of Covid19 no breakfast served. I did book room only. Robert the managing director, was very polite and helpful. Followed covid19 rules to the letter. My room was great, double bed very clean and had 4 pillows, very comfortable. I slept like a baby. Shower always hot water at all times, and separate toilet. Plenty tea coffee milk sugar even some green tea and cookies. Bottle of water too. It is an adult only hotel, which suited me. Minute to beach, Tram and bus stops minute away, which i loved. There is Antiques shop on ground floor, which you can browse and buy, lots of lovely items. I was made very welcome. Thank you Robert.
