The room was in the newer wing and a long way from reception with cases

They are currently under renovation but that didn't really interfere with our stay. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was excellent and there was a full bath. Breakfast was excellent. They showed our luggagebon arrival (early) and on departure. This is the perfect hotel if arriving by train. 10 minute walk into Chester center

The so called garden - Needs total clean up to use safely & with comfort . Very dirty , no joy or pleasure to be had in court yard . No lights or items on tables - even during wedding very poor. Patio area needs total deep clean / power washing . Safer steps & entrances . Totally waste of what could be a feature to enjoy during summer !

Overall, it was a comfortable stay. The fire alarm on our first wasn't ideal, and the staff were unclear regarding the fire assembly point, and we opted for the no housekeeping option on the premise of a free drink and that he didn't receive it. There was at times a lack of hot water for the shower. Also, the turtle ornament in the courtyard rasided a few smiles, but overall and comfortable stay.

The car parking charge was a bit excessive for 24 hrs and wasn't included in the hotel cost.

The quality of the hotel was excellent. Room was spacious. The bed was very large and comfortable. I always enjoy the breakfast at this hotel.

There are no plugs by the side of the bed. The carpet had become loose in areas that created a few creases across the floor. The window frames had significant black mould on them.

The shower room was a really good size and had all requirements just missing a rubber slip mat which was rectified straight away and just thought it perfectneeded to have hand rails as one of are guest had slight mobility problems

Breakfast was great all staff very helpful and polite especially Chris went over and above providing perfect service and request. Adding a very personal touch.

Staff were rude at times Emailed hotel prior to stay, concerning ongoing referb works. I was told they’d be finished before our stay. This was not the case. Contractors started work at 8am, which is early in a hotel.

Up on the seventh floor and only one very slow lift. No granola or honey at breakfast and the bread was plain white or brown sliced.

Room was very luxurious , lots of room and all the expected facilities - curtains thick enough to keep the light out thank goodness. We had excellent snacks in the bar (just been re-done and very spectacular). I loved the paintings on the wall but no-one could tell me who did them unfortunately. Good value breakfast.

The fixed overhead showers in the walk-in showers. I would have liked the option of a handheld spray and also a grab rail.

the toilet in our bathroom was not clean :( and we had to pay 12 pounds for parking

Renovations are great, the reception area, staircase, bars etc on ground floor were stunning. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and the welcome into the restaurant was very warm and friendly.
