It would of been a excellent touch had we had a complementary bottle of beer or wine for my husbands 40th Birthday. I had stated on the booking form we were there to celebrate a birthday! The tea and coffee at Breakfast was very below standard!

Only 1 lift in use, so when needed had a bit of a wait.. Breakfast was great, but had to wait to catch the waiters eye to get a coffee refill. Didn't see a 'coffee station'.

Fantastic room overlooking the gardens with the minster in view. Parking easy with plenty of space. A very short walk into the city, so location is great.

The chairs and carpet in the room could do with a clean / refresh. Didn't like the sink in the bathroom, I'm pleased I'm not that tall or I would have really struggled to use it.

Everything was really nice, breakfast was a good range of choice and all freshly made. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The room was very noisy as they were carrying out roadworks throughout the night so did not sleep very well.

Unfortunately one of the two lifts was out of order and there was a persistent feeling of frustration 'in the air' from those unable to ascend or descend the stairs under their 'own steam'. Waiting times were certainly prolonged.

Location, both check in and breakfast staff and the room. Having stayed previously a few times, I knew what to expect and overall, I wasn't disappointed.

Although not in the control of the hotel, the all night road works outside the station and hotel was very noisy and prevented a good nights sleep.

We were initially given a room where renovations still ongoing - full of workmen’s tools etc ! Eventually sorted out in a good manner.

Easy walk to all attractions. Good food. Nice room. Excellent staff. Convenient parking so no need to use our car during the stay.

Our first room 115 was small, very warm and noisy. However, when we asked to change rooms, Adam on reception arranged for us to move to room 4; which was perfect for us.

Great location, friendly staff, who dealt with our questions and any issues. There was a substantial leak at the hotel whilst we stayed, however, we were not inconvenienced at all and it was clear that the staff and contractors were working hard to recover the situation. Well done all.

We thought the dinner menu was restrictive with very limited choice. The prices for dinner were very high and possibly why the restaurant was not well utilised. The quality was not exceptional and I would say it was on a par with a Hungry Horse or top end Beefeater. Breakfast was cold with the bacon and sausages overdone, however the scrambled egg was excellent. Again, I would say that breakfast was overpriced for the quality.

The location is extremely close to the City Centre, and although next door to York mainline Station, we did not hear any noise. The staff were friendly and very helpful with the reception team being extremely welcoming. Check in was quick and efficient and the room was what we expected.

Offered a room upgrade on arrival, unexpected and most welcome. Direct access to and from the station (didnt realise that on arrival). Breakfast very good (would have like black pudding option), Breakfast hostess bringing tea or coffee immediately to table is an excellent idea. In the absence of room aircon, the portable unit in the wardrobe was fine.

We wasn’t told that the pool sauna and spa would be closed all of the days we were staying which was very disappointing. And detracted from our stay and overall score for the hotel

The staff are fantastic from reception to restaurant and maintenance and room service: The Breakfast was plentiful with traditional English breakfast and continental options . The meals in the bar and restaurant were of good quality. The room was fantastic big screen Tv large bed and walk in shower and bath

Beautiful hotel. Very disappointed pool was closed and was not informed before arrival. Asked to speak to manager after walking 5 flights of stairs to find out closed, who couldnt be arsed to speak to me and had no interest. Very disappointed

One slight disappointment, the buffet breakfast was luke warm, such a shame because the produce is really good.
