Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

United KingdomOnly 1 lift in use, so when needed had a bit of a wait.. Breakfast was great, but had to wait to catch the waiters eye to get a coffee refill. Didn't see a 'coffee station'.
Fantastic room overlooking the gardens with the minster in view. Parking easy with plenty of space. A very short walk into the city, so location is great.

United KingdomThe chairs and carpet in the room could do with a clean / refresh. Didn't like the sink in the bathroom, I'm pleased I'm not that tall or I would have really struggled to use it.
Everything was really nice, breakfast was a good range of choice and all freshly made. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomUnfortunately one of the two lifts was out of order and there was a persistent feeling of frustration 'in the air' from those unable to ascend or descend the stairs under their 'own steam'. Waiting times were certainly prolonged.
Location, both check in and breakfast staff and the room. Having stayed previously a few times, I knew what to expect and overall, I wasn't disappointed.

Easy walk to all attractions. Good food. Nice room. Excellent staff. Convenient parking so no need to use our car during the stay.

United KingdomOur first room 115 was small, very warm and noisy. However, when we asked to change rooms, Adam on reception arranged for us to move to room 4; which was perfect for us.
Great location, friendly staff, who dealt with our questions and any issues. There was a substantial leak at the hotel whilst we stayed, however, we were not inconvenienced at all and it was clear that the staff and contractors were working hard to recover the situation. Well done all.

United KingdomWe thought the dinner menu was restrictive with very limited choice. The prices for dinner were very high and possibly why the restaurant was not well utilised. The quality was not exceptional and I would say it was on a par with a Hungry Horse or top end Beefeater. Breakfast was cold with the bacon and sausages overdone, however the scrambled egg was excellent. Again, I would say that breakfast was overpriced for the quality.
The location is extremely close to the City Centre, and although next door to York mainline Station, we did not hear any noise. The staff were friendly and very helpful with the reception team being extremely welcoming. Check in was quick and efficient and the room was what we expected.

Breakfast very good (would have like black pudding option), Breakfast hostess bringing tea or coffee immediately to table is an excellent idea. In the absence of room aircon, the portable unit in the wardrobe was fine.
