Bit pricey as some Parts were run down. Our rooms paintwork needed work. The door was left open by the cleaners didn’t report at time The bathroom could do with a curtain/blind as very Bright in morning with having the blackout curtains.

Whilst the staff were all friendly the service training was lacking. Particularly true for the staff in the lounge bar and breakfast room. Upon check in time (3pm) we were told that our room was not ready. However we were offered an alternative which was suitable. Air conditioning was not operational- although luckily the external ambient temperature meant this was not a problem.

Location was great, overall nice decor and friendly staff. Room was spacious and comfortable with a fantastic shower room. Public areas were grand and opulent in appearance. All of the expected facilities were available, including parking. All areas were clean. Breakfast had a good selection although some of the hot food had not been replenished at the later sitting.

Amazing for location and right next to the railway station. Central for all aspects, tour bus, city centre and public transport. The National Rail Museum is also next door!

I didn't like that I had an extremely long walk from reception to my room which included using two different lifts!

The bathroom had quite a few splatters on the wall and there was no extractor fan so no way to get the steam out after a shower. The aircon wasn't working but they had supplied us with a Dyson fan. The breakfast was buffet style so the food was only just warm and the staff were slow at refilling things when they had run out.

The room was a good size and the bed was massive. The location was great it was less than a 5 minute walk from the centre. The staff were friendly. The drinks in the bar were very nice. We had room service and although it took a while to come you could tell it was all freshly made from when we placed the order.

Nothing, with the possible exception of noisy pigeons first light outside the rooms windows.

This hotel is right in the centre and has parking! Next door to the hotel is the main transport hubs ( Buses and Trains ) I would normally use my car for travelling around however the public transport infrastructure is excellent and cheap. The room was a really nice size but the big attraction is the size of the public areas - Really quite stunning.

Only one lift working and it was very slow (although I understand they are improving this) Not much of an issue but mentioned to the staff that the kettle leaked and the hand held shower was jammed into the holder so we could not remove it.

The room was a really good size and the bed was very comfortable. Did not stay for Breakfast as we were moving on to another location so can't comment. So close to everything we had come to see - Railway Museum, York Minster and the shopping - no car needed The bar was very busy so we relaxed in the Garden room - very peaceful and quiet even with a wedding going on. The gardens are beautiful

The room was spacious and Clean The Breakfast had plenty to choose from the menu from the location was near the station but there was no noise from the trains and the parking was good

Room was incredibly hot with no way of cooling down (we did open window but was too noisy to keep open all night). Slight fault in shower door which meant water was leaking out into floor which made it slippy.

Beautiful, relaxing hotel. Great location with easy access to train station. Comfortable rooms, staff were friendly and accommodating. I asked for some milk instead of the uht in our room and that was no problem at all. Breakfast was busy but food was good quality.

Had to wait some time for cereal bowls . Then provided with what looked like soup bowls Then had to wait for fried eggs I was with two friends, they had finished before me but it took a good 15 minutes for someone to come and take their used plates away

Room was poorly configured. Bed too small. We could barely move around the room, yet bathroom was huge.

Appreciated being able to store our luggage as needed.
