Bright light from the smoke detector flashing every few seconds made it virtually impossible to get any sleep in room 11.

No particular complaints apart from experience in room 11 - see next section.

The building is very old so there is no lift and the floors are sloping. Just age!

Relatively comfortable room for a one night stay, lovely view out of the window. Location on Isle of Skye is lovely as it's near the main bridge, however still 30 minutes from main town of Portree.

We had no hot water. There was only a tiny bit of toilet paper in the room and one coffee cup. Lack of detail. No foot coverage on bed, as per pictures.

The room was pleasant because we had a sea view.

The shower screen was mouldy. The room smelt musty. But for the money and it was for one night we didn't complain. Breakfast was horrible, it was almost cold, even my other half who is renowned for eating anything couldn't eat breakfast. There was a lack of staff, tables left filthy for long time, dishes cleared but tables not wiped down. Bread for toast was dry and curling and didn't look fresh. Cold meat and cheese selection was open to air and anything that went passed. We were really disappointed. Place looked a bit run down and in need of a make over and staff trained in food hygiene, and guides on what temperature food should be at and checked regularly.

The bed was comfortable. Liked the location

The size of the room was too small. The washroom feels like you are in a prison when taking shower as you can't move at all as there is no space for it. The breakfast didn't have good options at all. So I would not recommend staying there unless you have nothing else that you can find.

The location is good. Walking distance to places you want to see and have something to eat. They have Parking which is really good.

Inadequate parking. Hallway carpets threadbare in parts exiting the lobby, in the elevator and on the second floor where we stayed.

Reservation as made was honoured. The hotel is passable as a traveler's rest, but it appears to have seen better times. Staff were cordial and courteous. The breakfast buffet was reasonable. Staff was helpful when assistance was required to open a window. Washroom was clean and functioned well.

Rooms a little tired and need some attention.

Good breakfast provided but delivery and service could have been better. This was due partially to the first buses of the summer season staying and large numbers at the same breakfast time.

Room 241, there was a stale smell in the room, think coming from the carpet which needs a good steam clean. Beds were uncomfortable, I think they were old and need upgrading. There was no point in complaining upon check in as was told hotel fully booked.

The walls are very thin, starting early in the morning we could hear all the other guests leaving their rooms and walking in the corridor. We found the location to be a bit far away from the places we wanted to visit at Isle of Skye.

Room was very spacious and comfortable for 3 people. Breakfast had a lot of nice choices, and the view was amazing. Welcoming and friendly staff.

Reception area smells musty as well as the room when we first walked in. There were black bags and hangers lying around the corridor, obviously forgotten. Needs a bit of tlc (lick of paint outside, clean the stairwell carpets)... Feel that it is hugely expensive for what one actually gets. Will have been willing to pay £120 per night. First impressions are not great.

Nice modern en-suite. Bed was comfortable enough.

Completely mess during breakfast, we couldn't get clean table. The staff was walking around and leaving tables after guests as they were... Finally we had cleaned one of table by myself. Second thing were gone of some products on breakfast that were not re-filled, e.g. joghurt, chese.

    Room was modernized

The hotel is described as "bespoke" but it is actually out dated and could do with a total revamp, it's tired looking. The bathroom has plain glass in the window and the curtain hangs at an awkward angle, you have to make sure no one can see in from opposite windows when you shower. There is no fan to clear the steam from the shower and the door keeps opening even though it's supposed to be locked. A glass or a bottle of water would of been a simple thing to be placed in rooms to take any medication.

The breakfast was lovely though staff had to be asked on numerous occasions to top up the food, which they seem to do once attention was drawn to it. The reception staff were very nice and helpful

Blinds doesn't work properly. Dinner staff were not very friendly and organised. We rather went for dinner at the King Haagon Bar for some authentic scottish food and friendly people. The hotel also seem to be run down.

The bed was comfortable and the location was central.
