Lovely elegant rooms on the ground floor, very clean and comfortable with luxurious touches. Excellent location next to the river and Museum Gardens which gives it a quiet and relaxing atmosphere, but still within a short walk of the railway station and city centre attractions. Staff were very helpful.

Nothing really. No lift, but not a problem for us. Instructions from train station took us quite a long route - shorter options would have been better with small cases to trundle!

Staff very helpful with directions and recommendations. Quiet room on top floor looking towards gardens. Optional breakfast suited us. Everything needed was in the room. Luxurious towels, heated towel rail, coffee machine and other extras all added to make lovely two nights.

Temperature in the room was pretty cool. Again, no breakfast (although you could order it from off-site to be delivered).

Bed was comfortable and big. No breakfast, which was disappointing, but we knew that when we made the reservation. Walk to heart of town was easy, through the park. Quiet area, no interruptions to sleep.

Great location. Friendly staff. You have to complete a form by 8pm the previous night to indicate your breakfast choice. No hot cooked breakfast - apart from porridge. This is served in your room as there are no other dining facilities. I was offered one of their parking spaces for £15/night, but I had to pay cash by 6pm on the day of arrival - all a bit odd and inconvenient - who carries cash these day? My bedroom, at the front and opposite the park entrance, was spacious and quiet even with the windows open at night. I would stay there again.

Mini bar prices. These are ridiculously high and, I'm sure, dissuade many guests from purchasing items. In my view, reducing the prices by at least 30% would encourage more sales - nobody likes to feel they're being ripped off. It's a minor point and did not detract from a memorable trip for my wife and I.

The room was lovely, and the hotel is so conveniently placed for the city and its attractions. The walk through the museum gardens to the inner city is an absolute pleasure and delight.

Very difficult getting into shower. We’re both over 70 and I felt unsafe climbing over side of high bath and almost slipped getting out. Not recommended for older people, no lift.

The room although compact was extremely comfortable and well equipped . Excellent location a short walk from the centre of the city but extremely quiet with no traffic noise . Although the hotel has no catering this is not an issue as plenty of alternatives nearby.

A great location, a short walk to the Railway Museum and the station. Its a really lovely walk through the Museum Gardens which is opposite, into the city too. Breakfast is ordered the evening before and it was nicely presented and very tasty and arrived on time.

The room was a great size and nicely decorated, plenty of snack and drink options in the fridge, the breakfast was tasty and reasonably priced, the location was ideal (very close to the city centre) and the staff were very attentive and pleasant. Great hotel overall.

Stayed in room 20, only feedback is the chain is missing from the bath plug so very difficult to remove and maybe some bubble bath would be nice.

Love the location, bed was very comfortable and room had everything we needed. Staff were lovely, really friendly and welcoming, big plus for us was the phone call of the morning offering us to book a parking space.

In Room 3 you clearly hear people passing the door and the noise can be a bit intrusive. Cost for car parking also adds to the cost of the stay.
