There was a load rumbling noise outside all night. I think from the swimming pool. Got used to it after a few hours and slept fine then.

The man who checked us in was perfect, friendly and welcoming.

Staff on the desk at the Health Club were unwelcoming and at times quite dismissive and rude. Failed to tell us that a class was about to start in the pool taking up the whole shallow end. Once in the pool, a lovely lady from the class informed us of this, we had our two small children with us so this was obviously very disappointing for them.

Great breakfast, friendly welcome at reception, lovely views from our bedroom and from the restaurant. Family room was very spacious and comfortable.

The menu - very dull, stodgy and unhealthy, little choice for non meat eaters. Not even unhealthy bar food available. Even the pizza on offer was only Margarita! I am not a chef but could have designed and cooked a more interesting menu! The rocket delivered with my calamari was off too! Too many kids running & screaming around! We had to retreat to room:( We had to get a takeaway on the second evening as there was very little on offer! Not ideal. Location wasn’t good as couldn’t really walk to alternative places.

Dog friendly. Good pool and gym ( although won’t choose a weekend again as too many kids!) Friendly staff. Breakfast wonderful - choice of non dairy milks, nuts and seeds. Enough for veggies

I tried booking originally through the hotel direct as I was booking for my brother & nephews who were attending a event at the hotel Because I wasn’t attending I had to have a business email & card, which I had but my email wasn’t good enough, because my business name was the emails domain it was a @hotmail! so I wasn’t able to book using the discounted rate & I wasn’t able to just pay for the room over the phone I’ve never heard of anything so ridiculous I then booked through booking.com and the reception staff then made checking in difficult because my brother didn’t have the same card it was booked with !

Restaurant menu poor and unimaginative I was forced to go elsewhere for food. In the past I have eaten in the restaurant and found choice of food and food very good. On the Saturday evening There was a party being held in the ballroom which was very noisy and was still going on at 2.30am Sunday morning when a fight broke out in front of the hotel which was clearly visible from my room 302. Some of the other guests mentioned fights breaking out around the other side of the hotel during Saturday evening/Sunday morning. Some of the culprits were still sitting outside smoking and noisily chatting at 3am which resulted in a lack of sleep for myself and others I would guess.

The hotel is a quite run down. We were a family of four and asked weeks in advance to have two rooms together which the hotel confirmed, once we got there- separate rooms. The leisure center is not family friendly, kids under 16 can't use the facilities. There is a venue outside the hotel, there was a rowdy crowd and fights until 2am.

The breakfast was nice, and the beds are comfy, it is really close to Leeds castle. Reception staff were friendly.

Breakfast was mostly cold and the quality did not match the price. Sauna and jacuzzi were broken. The price for the Saturday night was way too high as the hotel was nowhere near full.

There was a wedding being held at the venue that got a little out of hand. The room we were staying in overlooked the front where all the commotion was going on so no sleep was had which was such a shame. Would like to come back and stay again as the staff were amazing

Pool is far too deep for children to enjoy. I am 5ft 10 and could only stand up in a small section of pool. Pool and changing rooms very dated and a bit rough, needs updating. Some staff quite rude and not very helpful. Paying nearly £4 for a coffee which the woman didnt have a clue how to make. Windows in bedroom were single pane glass and looked decades old, freezing at night we had to ask for extra duvets as cold was coming through windows! Despite asking a few times for things to be done ie room properly cleaned as we stayed for 8 days it wasnt.

No soundproofing so could hear the room next door (snoring, talking on the phone etc.) which was not ideal. Very limited options on dinner menu.
