Cannot open the window - A/C as only way of bringing fresh air in. Not nice to mother nature nor our health No door latch Open plan bathroom is interesting but not if this is your 1st holiday together 😉 Weird people in Travelodge across the st spying on you - not the hotel's fault just mentioning that Missed 2nd chair

OUR BALCONY WAS ON THE SAME LEVEL AS THE GRASS FLAT ROOF AND NOT OVERLOOKING THE RIVER. THE BAR STAFF WERE NOT VERY DYNAMIC AND APART FROM THE SUPERVISOR SEEMED TO WONDER AROUND AND LOOK AT CUSTOMERS INSTEAD OF SERVING THEM.

BEDROOM WAS GREAT, RECEPTION STAFF WERE EFFICIENT AND PLEASANT, BREAKFAST STAFF WERE HARD WORKING.

property great comfortable room, very modern. Just don’t think there should be a difference of the charge when you’re booking for breakfast whether it be on the day before or the morning. It should all be the same

Unisex toilets in the lobby.

Hotel is very clean and spacious. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming and very helpful. It’s a lovely hotel in a great location. A very comfortable stay, quiet rooms and comfy beds and fab shower. Lots of plugs and USB charging points were brilliant. Fridge very handy too. The bathrooms are always very open so be sure to share a room with someone you know well! ;-) Breakfast in Gino’s was great too. Very satisfactory. We love Melia hotels, we will always recommend and definitely continue to choose to stay with Melia in the future worldwide wherever possible.

Car park is small and didn’t manage to get parked in it, instead had to park a short walk away. The shower is basically in the bedroom and not a separate room, I travelled with a friend so we felt there was no privacy for getting dressed/undressed for the shower, something to bear in mind. The pillow had some makeup stains on them, so I turned them over and slept on the opposite side. The fire alarm went off at 2:20am and we ended up stood outside in the cold in our pyjamas, hotel didn’t apologise and it really affected our sleep.

Lovely and modern, fresh and contemporary interior. Huge bed, spacious room, complimentary drinks in the fridge is a lovely touch too. Breakfast was fantastic with plenty choice.

Lovely first impression of the hotel when we arrived, clean tidy and modern. There was also a nice buzz from the bar area, which felt very welcoming. We quickly checked in to our River View room, which was great. The room was bright and offered a brilliant view of the Tyne. Despite being two single beds coupled together, the bed was comfy and a sound night sleep was gaurenteed.

Fire alarm went off at 2:30 but even that didn’t spoil anything.

Rooms were excellent , spotless clean. Shower was big enough for the 2 of us. Location was perfect for town and reception ordered us and taxi and was waiting within a couple of minutes. Breakfast was gorgeous, staff were so helpful and poached eggs were unreal. Went for our anniversary and view of the river made it extra special.

didn't like overlooking the apartments opposite so would book a river view next time. bit of an uphill hike to city centre (which we like) but for less able bodied it might be too much.

staff were lovely, very friendly, had a great vibe on the evening. meal in the Gino restaurant very good. the DJ on the evening was a nice touch. check in was available on arrival which we didn't expect as we got there early, room was clean and bed was comfy. breakfast was buffet but plentiful and nice quality, had poached eggs made on request-staff seemed like nothing was a problem.
