Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustriaThe apartment itself is really rin down. The floorboards are damaged, the kitchen furniture as well. The bathroom is tiny - the washbasin one of the tiniest I have ever come across. I was a bit worried at first that they might want to pin any of the damage on us and keep (part) of the 200 pound deposit but my fears were unwarranted - we got the deposit back quickly and without any hassle.
We met the nicest hotel staff ever! It was such a wonderful welcome. Thanks to the whole staff! The location is fantastic! A lovely area of London. Such a joy to walk around, whether towards Notting Hill or Hyde Park. We had a most wonderful stay.

IcelandStaff gets a 10, but my overall rate is an 8 because it's an old property and therefore, very noisy. We could hear everything the neighbours did, even just when they were walking above us, slamming doors or simply chatting. So we didn't sleep fine and we were tired to explore the city. But this is something very common in London, so I recommend bringing earplugs for more comfort.
Every time I go to London, I try to book something in the area, because I love the neighbourhood and access to the tube and buses. This time I booked 2 apartments here for my and my family and we loved it! Staff was very friendly even after checking out (for a little problem I had), they were helpful and nice all the time, and I got the deposit back super fast! Comfortable beds, good size, very well equipped kitchen.

ItalyThe apartments could use some renovating - most of the furniture is scuffed. Could be cleaner - we found a huge mysterious stain in the shower and the sheets too weren't super clean. The deposit is pretty high, about 234€, I understand it can be necessary but it is a lot of money and it took almost a month to get it back on my card since I don't have a UK card.
The location is great. Perfect for going around and well connected, in the next street over there's pubs, restaurants and supermarkets. The staff is nice and helpful, we had an issue with the heating and they solved it quickly. The apartments are big enough for 2 people and have all the basics. Also nice water pressure even if we were on the 3rd floor!

AustraliaPrior to arrival, I received a message telling me where to go to collect keys. That address is down the road from the actual accommodation. We walked into a filthy hallway and found a typed note on a door advising the actual address of reception, back up the same road. How hard would it be to update your automatic message? The room we got was not the one in the picture. It was minute and quite ridiculous! The room was so small that we had to move furniture in order to open our small wheelie bags. The bed was bad! We were sleeping on the rubber side of a mattress protector and not on a mattress topper or a fitted sheet. It was physically impossible to make the bed as there is no room to move it out from the wall to do so. Pillows need replacing. Cheap pillows need to be upgraded every few years because the filling compresses. They are now too small for the covers. There was no bedside table nor bedside lamp. I asked for a lamp so we could read at night and was told, very politely, that the 'serviced apartments' didn't have bedside tables or lamps. Seriously? There was no place to use a Hair dryer in front of a mirror. The tv is situated on the same wall as the bed head so we couldn't watch tv at all because there is no where to sit to do so. Our toilet wouldn't flush for the night and morning of our stay. We told reception who promised a maintenance man and then after being out for the whole day, had to call again as it had not been fixed. I was told that it had indeed been attended to and I had to firmly advise that it hadn't and could someone please come now? The shower taps stick and are very difficult to use. We had a three night stay and yet there were only 2 coffee sachets and 2 tea bags. And not even milk for 1 day. Really? We got 2 different stories about the date we could expect our refund of the £200 damages deposit. This is NOT a serviced apartment. Apart from the maintenance man, who was very pleasant, NO-ONE serviced our room!

United KingdomWhen I arrived there was no heating. I had to use electric heaters for the first day. The kitchen was tired and dated. The freezer had a missing door. The lighting was intense and over powering. No lamps. Just harsh over head lights. There was only one curtain on each window which didn’t close properly.
