How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The hotel's TV channel advertised that the breakfast, if purchased additionally, would be 9 Pounds, 50, each. We went to the breakfast and after my wife had already started serving herself, I discovered that the actual charge was 12 Pounds, 50. Their advertising, therefore, was misleading and we might have decided to go elsewhere if we had known.
The staff was polite and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. We liked the parking arrangement which entailed a discount at a nearby facility. the location was convenient.

The mattress was not very comfortable.
It is well located in the city centre. Easy access to the Central station, underground, restaurants, supermarkets and other tourist attractions. Staff were helpful and attentive.

The pillows were very hard, uncomfortable to sleep on. We asked for softer pillows, but the desk clerk only found one. We stayed in two different rooms over a three night stay. The first night our room had a window but the bottom 2/3 of the window was frosted glass so you couldn't see out. It was a bit claustrophobic since the rooms are so small. We switched rooms to the front of the property, for the next two nights, and the room had two windows so we could see out. Much more comfortable.
The property was modern, clean, and featured quirky decor related to the city. It is very quiet. Convenient location to the Queen Street train station and George Square. Front desk staff were personable and helpful. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel. Highly recommend Paesano Pizza just 3 doors away from the hotel.

The room was in need of updating. Door knob off the bathroom door, door handle falling off, electric shaver outlet didn’t work, the large toilet button sticks, the large shower handle inside shower loose all around and ready to come off the wall and the table had one screw left one fell off and was stepped on.
It was in a good location.

My room had some off putting stains on the wall near the bed. I don’t get put off by the odd missed bit but this was just too much.

Only one pillow per person on the bed made for an uncomfortable night, found the extra pillows in the wardrobe before we checked out surely would be better to have them on the beds instead of stored away

Overnight Parking is about a block away in a public lot. Not too bad but something to be aware of.
Located in the city center it is a nice place for easy access to most parts of the city. Rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. Lobby and Common areas are simple and unassuming but functional for a quick stay.

Staff, location, breakfast were all good. But left lift erratic and be rather hard. Bonus bevy for not having room cleaned was nice touch. But sink in bathroom was reported as blocked just after we arrived and not dealt with before we left (room 705).
