The room was pretty small for the price paid; we did not think it was good value. We would not return at the price we were offered.

We love the ambiance of this hotel. We have been quite a few times to experience lunch and afternoon tea, and have stayed once before. The staff are exceptional, especially the ones serving in the conservatory, but all of them, including the cleaning staff, are so pleasant, friendly and welcoming. Nice varied breakfast, with smoked haddock or kippers as choices, which not every hotel offers. Very comfortable beds; bathroom products and varied tea / coffee / hot chocolate facilities. Room was quiet despite being located right above the entrance; we thought we might be disturbed by people coming back late and being noisy but heard nothing. When we encountered a problem with the TV the night porter came and sorted it out for us.

Our room did have a wardrobe which had not been dusted for quite a while. My wife suffers Asthma as she was concerned that it might set her asthma off.

We really like the location and the downstairs lounges and dining room.

The room we chose for the view but should have checked the square footage, a little on the small size but purely my fault.

Lovely warm feel. The Hydro is a good example of a traditional English hotel. Good traditional feel. All the staff seem happy to see you and very welcoming.

Shower -not very efficient. Glass shelf over wash basin -NO! How do you wash your face without cracking your head?

Location - great views. Ambience - classic, stunning. Staff - excellent, professioanl & friendly. Food - very good "Best fish & chips outside of Yorkshire".

I loved the room, situated on the ground floor & with a side sea view. Very clean, and quiet. I had everything I needed. When I couldn't find my room a very helpful waitress, who was nearby, showed me to it. An excellent evening meal was served in the conservatory, although the rain was hammering on the glass making the room chilly!

The only thing I can think of , which wasn't a major issue, was the size of the lift qnd how long it took to go from floor to floor as you can only get 2 people in at one time. This didn't impact on our stay at all though.

I booked this hotel because I was taking my mum to see James martin live at the congress theatre for her 80th birthday. I though the hotel was a great location for that and the seafront. The hotel was very nice and the staff were very friendly. We were very happy with our room and the food we had from breakfast to evening meal were excellent. Would definitely recommend. We also had lunch in the conservatory which looked out onto your beautiful gardens and the sea beyond. Beautiful location for a wedding (as I told my daughter!) Loved our stay, thankyou Hydro hotel

At breakfast I wasn't noticed so had to call over waitress to take my drink and food order after waiting a while. Otherwise all fine.

The room was a reasonable size for a single and well equipped with good sized bathroom. Good bath. Good to be able to check in from 2.30pm and to be able to park there.

Room rather small and cluttered. Tap in WHB did not work properly (we reported this). Area around toilet rather cramped.

Breakfast was good, room adequate, no view. Excellent shower equipped with rubber mat and grab handle.
