How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Nothing, but if pressed for an answer, normally I dislike lots of non necessary cushions on the bed but would have liked a couple on the sofa this time. Also there was wine glasses but no champagne flutes. Neither of these points detracted from our enjoyment though
Reception greeting and every single staff member were happy, smiley, professional and polite, couldn’t fault them. Room had everything necessary for a comfortable, quiet stay, view of Manchester skyline at night was magical. Breakfast next morning offered something for everyone’s taste plus plenty of vegan and vegetarian options all quality products. We would absolutely stay here again and would recommend to others also.

There was nothing to not like perfect stay !
Staff were very friendly, yet efficient at checking in. Room was lovely, clean plenty of space and wonderful view.

Extremely well located for events at the RNCM. Lovely staff, quiet, very clean and good buffet breakfast with lots of choice included. Added bonus of having a microwave, 2 ring hob, fridge and dishwasher if you wanted to cook some simple meals. Would definitely choose to stay here again if in Manchester.

The TV remote didn't work (had no batteries?). All the rest was fine.
The rooms were cozy, warm, with plenty of space to work, spotlessly clean, and the kitchen had everything needed if you wanted to eat "in". Plus: breakfast options were amazing.

The bed and pillows were a little harder than my preference but would suit others perfectly

checking out Wished we could have spent another night.
We were well received by the front office. Check in was quick and friendly. Our room was on the 17th floor with lovely city views. We had a gourmet dinner in their outstanding Laureate Restaurant..Our waitress was an exceptional waitress called Steph. She could not do enough to make sure we enjoyed our late night meal. She even went out of her way to describe the different types of hummus we had with our food... I am a hotelier myself and would be proud to have staff half as pleasant as Steph. Unfortunately she finished her shift before we could tip and thank her for her outstanding service.. No disregard to the rest of staff that served us, they were all very pleasant . We will definitely be back whenever we have business in Manchester.

It has to deposit some money. Which is pretty annoying since we could get lost some currency exchange during refund process.
Walkable from station (within 10 minutes), apartment is very clean, cozy, and tidy. Kudos for the management. Kitchen is great and enough for simple cooking.

I found the lighting in the room to be very dark There wasn’t a toilet brush in the bathroom lol The mattress was a bit hard

Nothing, it was all great.
Clean, great facilities and attention to detail in the rooms - nespresso machine and coffee pods, lovely toiletries and warm, comfy bedding. Spacious and in a nice quiet location just under 10 min walk from the city centre. Staff were exceptionally helpful and accommodating. Great breakfast too.

Bit far out from the city centre. Bar is really expensive.
