The breakfast service was the worst I have ever experienced. It was absolutely chaotic. I know it is difficult for hotels as the vast majority of people turn up within the last hour of service but the layout of the food area was awful and they didn't have enough staff. We got a table straight away (it was cleared for us) but we weren't given cutlery/napkins etc. The cooked breakfast was served by staff and so there was a queue. This queue meant it was a nightmare to get to the cereals, drinks etc. because there were people standing in the way. The bowls and plates and juice hadn't been filled up so I spent a lot of time sat not eating because I couldn't get to the food and there wasn't anything to eat it from if I did. We are vegetarian and at other hotels have ordered veggie sausages from the person seating us so they are brought to the table ready for us to go add the other cooked items. My husband tried to do that and was told to order them at the counter so he had to queue order them and then wait for them to be cooked. While my husband queued I sat for ages and asked a member of staff for cutlery I then saw some bowls being brought out and so left the table. When my husband got back someone had taken our cutlery! The staff were helpful but they were run ragged. There seemed to be enough seats but the food service area was totally inadequate. Holiday Inn need to look at how Premier Inn run their breakfast as it is always good. One of the lifts was out of order and they were tiny.

The room was quite spacious and I loved the walk in shower. The location was good.

My booking was confirmed as executive on reservations and then changed to ordinary standard on checking in which I didn’t understand why that happened… they said it was a problem with booking. Com

The breakfast was very good only that it took a little bit longer to be placed and to get my egg and mushrooms. But it provide the best breakfast. It is one of the strengths for this hotel

Car parking is expensive (but I spose it is close to the front) Car Charging is very expensive for the charge rate.

Where the trays were situated, as it seems like it has been designed so that you enter the buffet area from the outside rather than the reception area. But not too sure how the layout can be changed due to the limited space.

The breakfast was ok, I did find the omelette a bit watery, but that is my opinion. It had a self serving pancake machine which, although it wasn’t that straightforward as the instructions wasn’t immediately noticeable, was good.

No staff on reception when we arrived at 15.00 hrs waited 15 minutes to be seen... Not keen to take cash? Paid in full in cash but wanted extra as a guarantee !? One lift not working Beds were uncomforable raised in the middle felt like you were going to fall out. Shower screen/door needs to be larger feel like you have to squeeze into corner of the shower so that the rest of bathroom area doesnt get wet If mobility not good area is a bit hilly so would need a cab.. Lobby area/seating area could be bigger

There was no warning in the hotel information about having to pay an additional £15 per night for the parking at the hotel. Whilst we appreciated this was a near town centre location, we were surprised to be asked for this when we checked in. The man on the desk was kind enough to book us in for parking and not charge us any money. As we are in our 60's and visiting for a short break (and not for work purposes), we felt this was fair.

Room was clean and had everything we needed. The location and interior of the hotel was quiet. Very good breakfast was provided. Location was easy to find when travelling by car.
