How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Room was very cramped for our needs. Cot added in and little floor space left for dog.

The tv in our room said no signal so obviously never worked and despite arriving in plenty of time for breakfast, lots of items had run out and we were told we’re not being replaced

No armchairs, and only one upright chair. Rooms for two people should always have at least two chairs. Cooked breakfast choices could have been better - mushrooms, fried eggs etc.

£25 for a one night stay for the dog is a bit excessive, especially as this isn't easy to find when you book and not advised on the booking until after it is made.
Nice clean hotel conveniently located for a one night stopover. Staff were very good, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plain and simple, but just right for us and what we expected. Handy to have pub next door.

Probably the cleanest and well kept budget hotel we have stayed in. Would book again if we were wanting to stay in Stirling again.

Room we had was over air vents or similar so there was a constant noise, which was worse at night, so didn't get much sleep. As an accessible room, the floor outwith the shower curtain was soaked. Room could do with a kingsize bed, but understand this might not be possible

Breakfast supposed to be served until 10am. Went down at 9.30 and no croissants left, 1 slice of bacon and no sausages. Asked for above and was told breakfast finished at 10 so no more being brought out.
Staff were lovely and helpful. Room was clean.

Not a dislike, but its city edge location might put some off; the pub next door was ok for us in the evening.
Very clean hotel, excellent breakfast, ample parking. It was very quiet so we both got a good sleep. In terms of value for money it was very good.

Only issues was room was a little small for the 2 beds but that really isn't much and doesn't put me off coming back.
Great value for money . Breakfast was very good as well. Front desk staff were fab.

The restaurants near the hotel close very early. We asked the receptionist for help to bring something with delivery, but she said she had been for a few months and didn't know who did food delivery to the hotel.

The layout of the breakfast room isn't great. There's very little space to manouvere in the buffet area so just be aware of that going in. Holiday Inn now seem to have a no trays policy for breakfast, which does make sense. It was brought in to stop people piling their trays up and then wasting food by not eating all of it. Just be mindful that if you do happen to eat a lot you will probably need to engage in an elaborate balancing act or queue twice.
Comfortable room, very clean and well kept. Breakfast was adequate and pretty much what we tend to expect from these types of hotels. The location is reasonable for getting about. Stirling isn't very big so you can be most places in the city within 15 minutes drive. Fairly well positioned for hiking in the Ochils with the typical start to the Dumyat hike being just up the road.
