We had a lovely 4-night stay in this boutique-style B&B, close to the beach. Our immaculate room was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. A tasty breakfast set us up each day for exploring the Jurassic Coast. A fabulous find for fossil hunters!

Our room was just above the kitchen so heard the early morning preparations. Breakfast is very early over the weekend 8-9.15.

So close to the beach, the main amenities were near. The actual property was easy to find, so clean and staff so helpful, nothing was a problem. Had such a comfortable nights sleep on the beds. Breakfast was lovely…. I recommend the kippers 😁

Having to go….even though it was pouring with rain!,

Everything! Honestly, it was fantastic. There was plenty of parking. An extremely warm welcome. The quiet 2 room family room was perfect. The breakfast was outstanding. What a perfect location for the beach, fossil museum and fossil hunting. We walked along the beach to Lyme Regis which took roughly 30 mins (negotiating big rocks and fossil hunting!) We had our evening meals in Axminister; Belluno Italian (they do deals on a Tuesday) and Reno’s Thai food. Both delicious and would definitely recommend. We intend coming back to Hensleigh if we are in the area. I’ve recommended to all my friends.

Ideally located for the popular Dorset Towns, villages and beaches of the Dorset Coast. Easy walk to the beach and heritage Centre, fossil and Jewellery shops of Charmouth. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order.,very friendly hosts. On site carpark. Convenient to 2 village pubs and chip shop.

You could hear the people in the above rooms, very noisy.

Hospitality by the hosts. Loved the honesty box for drinks & snacks. Good car parking. Delicious breakfast & recommend the kippers.

Having to leave, just wanted to stay there longer

We booked our stay on a whim, what we found was a little gem in the perfect location, walking distance to the beach which is a bonus for any avid fossil hunter, staff were very friendly, breakfast was perfectly cooked, if we were to find any fault, it would be on our half for not finding this place sooner, can’t wait to go back

Perfect Stay! Started on arrival with ample easy on-site parking at this beautiful B&B. Perfect location with short walk one direction to the beach and short walk other direction to pubs, restaurants and shopping. Spacious room equipped with everything we could possibly need. Friendly owners with helpful recommendations to enjoy area, who serve up a delicious breakfast. Highly recommend!

There was nothing we didn't like. The only thing that was a bit distracting..and certainly not a criticism...was our breakfast table was right by the exit door. As people were leaving there were a few chilly drafts every time the door was opened.

We loved everything about Hensleigh House...the location...which was a five minute walk to the beach and very quiet. Jane and her husband were super friendly as was the lovely lady who served breakfast....which incidentally was amazing and kept us full for hours. Our room was spotlessly clean and we were provided with good quality teas and coffees...very impressed with the decaff tea too. Beds and pillows were very comfy...had a fab night's sleep.

Bed was a bit hard, could have used a mattress padding. And there could have been a vegetarian sausage for breakfast for non-meat eaters.

Well presented , light and welcoming, room was lovely and bright with very good en-suite with walk in shower, which was a plus. Breakfast room lovely, staff friendly. Great location, not far from the beach.

Next time we will try and book a larger room as we didn't quite have enough floor space for our cases and bags of fossil hunting gear

We have stayed at Hensleigh House a few times when fossil hunting. We love it here! The price is fair given the proximity to the beach. The staff are so lovely and helpful. Amazing breakfast. Places to leave Welly boots!! We booked three rooms for New Year's Eve and we used the sofas and communal space for games! Great to have this space on offer. The George is a homey and welcoming pub nearby (closed for a few months after New years) We'll be back again for sure!

A small thing would be some coat hooks in the room and on back of door in bathroom.

Spacious room 1 and huge shower and a heated towel rail as well as a magnifying make up mirror. Water in room and biscuits and real coffee bags. Good lighting with excellent directional reading lights. Excellent choice at breakfast of fruit, bananas, porridge, omelettes etc. Large car park
