How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Breakfast was not as expected. Staff advised they were busy so we would have to wake up early and just as they said, the kitchen ran out of food and nobody was taken care of it in a short time
The person attending the reception was very kind and helpful. The room met our requirements and needs

Breakfast time was chaotic, no plates, cutlery, cups. Waited around for ages to get some, staff would bring out a handful at each time.

The only thing I wouldn’t rave about is the breakfast but for £30 each with breakfast included, we couldn’t complain. We got down at 9:45 with breakfast finishing at 10 and unfortunately the hot breakfast wasn’t replenished, no glasses for the juice and no cutlery left but once asked, some were brought to us by the staff. This is the only thing we weren’t over impressed on but otherwise, a great stay!
Ideal location, only a 20 minute walk to the city centre so perfect if you’re here for a night out in Brum like we were. We attended a concert at Resorts World and it was only a 25 minute Uber ride so ideal for that too. Very clean, the two twin beds were small doubles so very comfortable and the bathroom was a nice size.

The area around isn't beautiful, it's convenient. I was unsure on parking so followed the staff advice for the enclosed car park.

The breakfast was the worst I have ever had in any hotel - there were no tea spoons, drinks were out of paper cups (some people had glasses but there were none left). The waffle station was very dirty and no one was cleaning it up. The coffee mugs were too small for the coffee that came out. There were only scrambled eggs. the signs around the hotel were peeling and this left some areas looking unkempt.
Staff were very helpful, the room was comfy.

Right on the corner is a pub and dominos, walking back late at night after a concert there was crowds of people drinking, using balloons (not the party kind) and driving erratically. This is no fault of the hotels but something to bare in mind, especially if you’re with children.
Comfy bed, clean room. TV worked great. Fresh towels. Welcoming Staff. Big Mirrors in the room.

Our room was on the ground floor, would have preferred any of the other floors to give a good view of the city.
I love the ambience of the room, quite comfortable and value for money. The staff were also friendly and ready to answer any questions and offer support where necessary. The breakfast menu, regular English breakfast but good quality.

The view was not great from the room, not the best for longer stays and people who like spending longer daytime hours in the hotel. But I arrived quite late in the evening and had to leave early in the morning so it was a short stay and the view did not bother me.
The room was very cozy with good air conditioning that was easy to adjust for the perfect temperature level. Big comfortable bed and all the amenities were good. There was also a great breakfast buffet in the morning, which I fully enjoyed. The hotel was in a convenient location close to the city centre.
