Sorry I've written both in the one box!

I worked at the hotel many years ago. At that time it was very rural, surrounded by fields. But now the area all around the hotel has been highly developed. So from my opinion it has lost a lot of the country feel for me. That being said, if you hadn't known how it was before all of the over development surrounding it you would still proberbly appreciate the properties gardens and old charm. The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. However certain aspects of the room were looking a little tired. The walk in shower whilst looking impressive is extremely slippy when wet, with no grab rails I felt very unsafe. For the higher price point I also felt that the beverage tray was disappointing, and could have had more luxurious offering. The breakfast was very tasty. But I was not checked and I would have liked some more coffee. The staff were very pleasant and professional.

The bathroom door will not shut properly. The shower connection from the bathtub was not working well and the bathtub was cracked. There was no lift and l was placed on the attic floor. I had to carry a heavy suitcase all the way up there. I was advised that there was a wedding going on that day and to reduce noise for me l was allocated there.

I had a few bulbs out in my room but I forgot to mention it. Overall it was a lovely place to stay so nothing else wrong

I discovered this hotel when going for a walk from another local hotel. It is located in an industrial estate yet manages to have a lovely country house feel and cute gardens to sit it. I was in the old part which was nice and very cosy. The staff are delightful and really helpful. Food was fabulous at dinner and breakfasts were good and lots of variety. I will definitely be booking again for my annual Telford trip.

The location is set in a corner of a business/retail/industrial park. Quiet but do not expect sweeping country views as I had in my mind. It also missed a nice lounge area to dine informally or sit to have drink. The bar area is small and uninspiring - no views, as contained between the kitchen, dining room and big conservatory/function room. A personal view point but our room looked over a car park - okay you have to park somewhere & industrial units.

The breakfast was really nice but we had it included otherwise it was £15.95 for a 'Full Shropshire'. The staff were all very personable and helpful with attentive service. The rooms and public areas were clean. It was a quiet location.

Hotel seems set up for weddings - whilst we were aware that a wedding was taking place on the night we stayed, it does mean that some of the facilities, bar etc. not available to other guests, and of course there is loud music until late (up to 12.30). Fine for guests of the wedding, but would not visit again for this reason. Otherwise, the hotel was lovely and well located. A bit expensive as a result for the more limited facilities and peace for non wedding stays.

The mattress was not comfortable. We mentioned it the next morning and the Manager said he would sort it out.

The hotel itself is really beautiful inside. Nicely decorated as a wedding was taking place. The breakfast was full English if required or plenty of choice on the menu. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

I was woken by a loud rattling noise at 6am, probably from the air conditioning, reported this to staff, who said they would look into it. Some of the plumbing seems to need updating.

Lovely quiet spot and peaceful atmosphere. The hotel was not busy. I had a tasty meal in the restaurant and next morning there was plenty of choice for breakfast. Checkin and out were quick and efficient, with staff who were considerate and helpful.

Nothing really, only slight issue was the hotel wasn't well signposted, I wasn't expecting it to be in a business estate area.

Large, comfortable room (I was upgraded), food was good, large breakfast. Overall it was good value and was the same price as a nearby Premier Inn but with far better food and breakfast included.

Had to eat in the hotel as nowhere within walking distance to eat. Food was good standard. Breakfast was ok. Not had a cooked breakfast for a while but we’re disappointed as bacon was a little fatty and sausage was not very warm. Service was very good.

Carpet felt a teeny tiny bit sticky or bristley I felt it could do with a steam clean or renewal. Not at all bad just a little so that I noticed it. We were too late for food on arrival arriving 8.29pm (after I had tried to book online). Some other options would have been helpful, as we had to rush around trying to find food after a long journey.

Bed was comfortable, room comfortable, bathroom nice. Breakfast good in conservatory. Barman made a super coffee to take to my room late Saturday evening. Ease of parking.

Clarity on how breakfast works would have been nice as it ran differently over the 2 meals we had due to 2 weddings that weekend.

Not a question of not liking anything, just would have appreciated a lift to the upper floor

The staff could not be more helpful, with a great welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely bright, clean room and bathroom. Had a fabulous evening meal there and a great breakfast in the morning. It is a beautiful old house with great features and character. Its only fault is, there is no lift. I was on the second floor with quite a bit of work stuff and two cases so it could of been a challenge but staff to the rescue, a young staff member offered to help me upstairs with my luggage.
