Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing it was all good
Really lovely property and very good facilities in a lovely area of town. Excellent facilities, the roll top bath was lovely. We had a great experience with Sa’ad, our breakfast guy, who was lovely and who went the extra mile and provided us with a special breakfast. Many thanks!

United KingdomThe bed was a little droopy to one side and the room was chilly, there was no extra bedding. The coffee in my room was out of date, as was the milk provided for breakfast.
The location (close to New St station and the Utilita Arena) was perfect and the staff were great. I enjoyed the breakfast selection and the room was very quiet, so I had a great night’s sleep. The discounted meal in the Button Factory was much appreciated and very enjoyable.

United KingdomNot a complaint but my bath plug didn’t seem to stop water flowing away and that meant hot water literally down the drain which is an expensive fault for them.
The staff are so friendly. The rooms were quirky and very clean. Nice vibe at the pub next door which is run by them too. The food there is fab .

United KingdomThere wasn’t a receptionist for the hotel which meant the property is only contactable when the restaurant opens at 12pm. I didn’t realise this as the website and booking mention check out from 7-11am, so I incorrectly presumed a staff member would be present in the morning. I would have organised my day differently if it had been stated more clearly online/in confirmation. In saying this - I would definitely stay again, now knowing how the property works.
Good location, lovely room and property. Bed was very comfortable and I slept well. Lovely high ceilings, good shower, spacious room, and I found the property very quiet (unlike a few other reviews) however I stayed mid-week.

United KingdomWe was right at the front of the property, although the windows are frosted out there was a seating area out the front of these windows, during the day this wasn't bad at all but when we came back from a concert at around 11pm it was noisy and the music base from a nearby establishment didn't stop until 1.30/2am in the morning, so didn't get much sleep until after this stopped.
It's Lovely place, check in was seemless, we was given a free upgrade to a junior suite on the ground floor. Amazing big room at the front of the property. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was included but this was a continental style breakfast, although no fry up the selections of pastries, cereals and breads was well presented and plentiful.

United KingdomBreakfast was a bit basic, but still nice.
Disclaimer about potential noise at booking stage. If you know there is going to be noise from the next door pub, you can plan ahead and prevent a sleepless night. Great location and the room had everything you needed.

United KingdomWith more attention to the breakfast offer, this property could be even better. For example, adding muesli or granola to the cereals, some yoghurts, ensuring the fruit is fresh, offering tea as well as coffee.
Stylish and non- corporate, finished to a high standard. Lovely bathroom and toiletries. Good location.

United KingdomDeal said includes breakfast, when there was none.
It is not a hotel, it is a "townhouse" of lovely rooms. The room and bed etc. were suburb, The location also. One tiny gripe was it was advertised with breakfast included and the images indicated a selection of continental choices. All there was, was a small fridge with 4 bits of fruit and some porridge pots in the lobby. I'll know for next time and will be going back. I had my evening meal and lunch the next day in the Button Factory next-door with a 20% discount. This also where you check in

Good location . Large room and very comfortable bed . Hotel facilities were good - complimentary breakfast to take away was really good option . Only saw any staff on arrival - no one was around when I left at 7.am so took a chance and left the key in a box outside reception.

United KingdomThe room was a little warm due to the bathroom towel rail but fans were provided. It was a little unclear on checkout where to leave to room key as the reception was not staffed.
Breakfast was great selection of pastries, bread, bagels, cereals and fruit. There were eggs which could be boiled in a machine. There was filter coffee on offer and two types of juice. The restaurant next door was great value for money for Sunday lunch.

Spacious room with all mod cons needed for an overnight stay. Very comfortable bed and rain shower , room was lovely and warm and very little outside noise for a street facing room. Check in was easy in the bar next door with nice and friendly staff and nice to be able to sit and have a drink while you wait as well. Could not fault the stay.

United KingdomA minor issue - found the room was very warm on arrival but managed to turn down one of radiators.
Location was good - within walking distance of city centre. Enjoyed exploring part of the Jewellery Quarter and learning about its history. Appreciated being able to have a meal at The Button Factory next door, especially as I arrived late Sunday afternoon and needed to find somewhere to eat. I was travelling solo but was offered a free room upgrade so stayed in a spacious room.
