How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Standing in the queue to get breakfast in the morning, lounge area poor service. To get to swimming pool you need to go to different building

Lovely homely and clean hotel with quality through and through. Decent size room with king size bed and Juliet balcony. Great night's sleep and very comfortable. Breakfast is great with loads of choices.

The dinner food was bland and no seasoning. Ordered steak ribe eye for my husband with garlic sauce and what was delivered to us was a steak full of fat and grease with oily sauce. The food was pricey and not worth to eat in the hotel's restaurant. My seabass was ok and the mussels that came was dirty as I could chew sand with them. Very disappointing! In addition, the food delay. Took around 1 hour to come. If we weren't so hungry we would've sent the food back.
The facilities, cleanliness and swimming pool. Breakfast fantastic!

Tried to make the room cooler as it was a hot weekend, climate was regulated. From reception to the room was quite a long walk, especially for our elderly parents.

A superb hotel with clean, comfortable and well maintained rooms. Lovely cosy rooms with air con and a super king size bed guaranteed a great night's sleep. En suite facilities included a bath with shower and quality toiletries. Breakfast is excellent with plenty of choices and a hot buffet .

It would be great if the chef could bring back Lincolnshire sausages to the breakfast offering, as was historically the case. Those on offer were rather bland in comparison.

We enjoyed another wonderful stay with our family at the hotel. The amenities, including the pool and sauna, were great. The complimentary breakfast was a delightful addition and made a lasting impression. We are grateful to the buffet staff for their excellent service.

Room quality this visit was poor.
I have visited the hotel previously and everything was exceptional. However this time they gave me a very dated room, poor quality and was very disappointed, as I had loved this hotel before. As a solo female traveller they put me in the furthest room possible from reception, of poor quality. However the hotel lounge is amazing, the food was good quality, especially breakfast. The staff are really welcoming. I will make a return visit as it’s a good location to visit Lincoln. Hopefully I will be allocated a beautiful room as per my first visit.

Mattress could have been a little softer and the duvet a little thicker.
Room was spacious and clean. Although the bed was large, the mattress was a little firm for my liking but as we were only there for one evening, it was not a problem. The breakfast was very good indeed. We arrived at a busy time, with a queue to enter, but the staff were so friendly and efficient that it did not take long to get a table.

Parts of it are tired and in need of an update. The bar prices were far too steep for what is an average hotel in N Lincolnshire!
The staff were lovely. They were all very helpful indeed.

The pool got busy at times.

Paid £30 per person for a buffet dinner at the event i was attending, which had I been served at any other time I would have returned and asked to be refunded. Hot food was luke warm at best salad leaves brown and watery, pork pies inedible and left over breakfast items palmed off as dessert. Overall, it was not good enough for what we were paying.
Reception staff were extremely helpful. Dog friendly areas to eat and drink. We had an issue with the toilet and were given a different room immediately.

Didn't refresh our milks /tea bags/ no complimentary biscuits. Room was a little scruffy and the maid only made the bed. No hoovering/ dusting.
