Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe garden is nice and relatively large and you can see it out into it from the large living areas but not from the kitchen. It's a really small thing and not a problem, just an observation we made to the host - There was no garden furniture on the quite large patio which had space for it, which if we came in the summer, we would have liked, but as it was quite cold, we didn't venture out into the garden anyway.
The house was huge, clean and luxurious, with an optimal position for travelling to see the sites of London. The owner was very kind and helpful from the moment of our booking, as we had lots of questions, being from outside the locale. Very quiet position with very nice and neat rooms, made as lovely as possible so that we did feel very welcome. Clean sheets on the beds and towels for everyone. Staying here made our trip very much relaxed and easier. West Finchley station is close so even though we drove and there is lots of parking space on the driveway and the street, going into London was much more superquick on the tube and we were able to hit many of the hotspots on our list easily and quickly. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and we had everything we needed, and a lot we didn't! Really want to thank the owner for making it such a lovely place and for a genuinely lovely stay.

United KingdomWe didn’t have any problems but a bigger TV might have been preferable in the humongous living room. There was loo roll on all the bathrooms and shower gels and shampoos and what have you, provided but I would have preferred the smaller, individual bottles you get at the hotels.
What an amazing stay at an excellent place! Chi’s place was just lovely and we had so much fun. Chi was also really helpful and informative leading up to our stay, even allowing us to check in a little earlier than usual check in time The house was a large, open and welcoming space for all of us to really kick back and enjoy our weekend, with great communal spaces when we felt like socialising and comfortable private spaces when we finally retired. Checking in was no fuss, no muss as we were able to pick up the keys easily. The heating appeared to be on a schedule and the place was warm and cosy when we arrived and went off on plenty of time before bed so it wasn’t stuffy. There’s lots of storage, everything you could need in the large kitchen, which was a lovely extra space to enjoy as group of friends (some of us with family!). Clean rooms, clean linens and thoughtful little touches here and there. The two couples in our group had the en-suites - the one on the top floor was quite something - while my child and I shared the 1st floor double bedrooms with the large and well appointed bathroom. We didn’t need the sofa bed in either of the smaller rooms but the desk/study area did come in handy for one of our group to do a few quick pieces of work. It was quite cold outside so we didn’t use the garden but it was nice to look out onto. Everything we needed to prepare breakfast - toaster, kettle, cutlery, frying pan and utensils - even some coffee, tea and sugar - was all there but we went out to dinner as there were lots of great places to choose from. We mostly drove so the parking on the driveway was handy but one half of the second couple took the train so the proximity to the tube was also very useful for him to meet up with us. There was a washing machine and dryer but we didn’t need to use it. I imagine it would be quite useful though, especially with children if one stayed a bit longer.

United KingdomJust a little recommendation, to add some more mirrors to the house. It needed more mirrors for us group of girls to get ready.
The host was amazing! We are incredibly grateful for allowing us to check in a couple of hours early and check out a couple of hours later than the set times.
