Unfortunately the mist was heavy over the sea so views were not possible and the fact is is a hilly area. The bus would assist the senior members around the town centre. Will visit again

The breakfast was filling and enjoyable. Whitby has a lot to offer, plenty of restaurants and pubs. The bus tour takes an hour and is very informative plus your ticket is valid for a 24 hour period. Walks along the harbour are plentiful.

From the personal welcome to the happy departure, there was nothing not to like about this B&B. The friendliness was obvious, the property spotless and inviting, the location, 10 minutes from the swing bridge was excellent, although the walk is a little steep at times. Parking was on street with a permit system in operation. Martin supplied the required permit for the two days of our stay without being asked and our car stayed parked close to the B&B throughout our stay. I can imagine that parking during peak visitor season could be tight.

Catered well for us both particularly my husband, who is gluten intolerant. A very good selection on the menu and served by a very pleasant host. The little extras in the rooms were a really nice touch. We’ll definitely stay again and have already recommended to friends.

Starting from the beginning, Martin met us when we first arrived and we found him to be very welcoming and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and well equipped, the bathroom was spacious and we had the luxury of a full size bath as well as a shower cubicle. Both were very clean and well arranged. The dining room was very attractive, all of the linen on the tables was immaculate and well pressed, the cutlery and crockery were clean . The breakfast choice was very good but the quality of the food was as good as if not better than anywhere we have ever stayed. We will definitely return in the future and highly recommend Ellie’s to anyone thinking of visiting the area.

Bed was a little too hard for me. I know that this is personal choice though (as my husband would have said it was perfect!) and mum said hers was fine. Not a criticism, just not so comfy for me.

Really clean. Great hosts and a nice breakfast. I am coeliac and they were absolutely brilliant, even provided a GF biscuit for the room. Lovely!

We couldn’t stay longer !

Martyn made us welcome as soon as we arrived our room was ready ( and we were early) which made it great for us to enjoy the day. Breakfast and service was great, I had the scrambled eggs which were to die for , my husband had the regular breakfast which was brilliant as well We will be booking again definitely, location great as well

Our bedroom had steps down to the w.c. and shower. Had to be careful, but secure hand rails were present.

Full classic English with optional hash browns excellent. Friendly hosts made the visit most enjoyable.
