Room was a good size and bright and airy; just needed a lick of paint perhaps. Bed was very comfortable and lovely bed linen. Bathroom nice and clean with large shower.

Breakfast was super as was the service.

Room was a little dated with its furnishings, but its an old place so I understand

The staff were excellent: friendly, helpful, and courteous.. The restaurant and bar were really good and fun. We had a great Sunday Roast.

The evening menu offered a good selection of dishes, other places had a wider selection of mains. Food quality was excellent

Great breakfast included and the location is fine for discovering the Cotswolds. Most of the staff were super friendly, one exception, maybe she was having a bad hair day.

Steep stairs to room. Sink offset to mirror which made mornings a bit awkward. There is no parking on site, but street parking was not a problem after 5pm.

The room had been outfitted recently with good quality furnishings but within the confines of it being a 17th century building (which might have started off as a barn). The roof truss at chest height was a surprise, meaning we had to limbo dance into the room, but for us it added entertainment to the experience - you don’t get this in 5 star hotels.

Sound proofing between rooms surprisingly poor especially as so much thought had gone into the design of the room.

It was very warm, and the comforter was too much. Just a sheet would have been nice.

Great location, and some of the best food in town. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

One slight complaint was that the wine glasses had a dishwasher smell about them. Suggest the filter needs cleaning or dishwasher overstacked?

Staff were exceptional, all were very pleasant and competent and several went well beyond the call of duty to ensure our stay was a pleasant one. Food in the restaurant was very good and the soup especially was exceptional.

The bathroom was very, very small, although had everything you needed. Our room was above the beer garden, and beer keg storage possibly, so noise was a bit of a factor, particularly in the morning as beer keg exchange was happening

The fact that it’s a 14th C building presents some accessibility challenges, but we know that and there’s always someone available to help! 😶

The Eight Bells is a real gem carefully nurtured by Julie and Neil. Staff are selected to be proactive, efficient and nice. Our room was cosy and had everything we needed.
