The reception staff were excellent-desk always attended-service fast and with a smile, showing genuine pleasure in assisting us and giving clear, helpful advice. The parking arrangements are particularly excellent given it is a busy seaside resort. The hotel looks as though it has pretty recently been refurbished as all decor looks in good condition. The rooms are also of good condition although the woodwork does need revarnishing but all else looks pretty new, love the gorgeous smelling soap and bath gel. All the connecting and communal areas also look clean and well-maintained. The Restaurant and Bar/Cafe areas are both relaxed and welcoming with excellent sea views and great air-conditioning. The food range could possibly be improved but the value was good as was the quality and speed of service. Breakfast also very good. Sausages are usually a good way to judge food quality so these could be better-given how many hotels there are in Eastbourne maybe a local pork/beef farm collaboration would make good selling point as traditional coarse texture sausages can lift a breakfast. Overall I'd happily live in this hotel all year round xx

The breakfast is a bit old school. It’s a ‘fry up’ buffet and the ‘continental’ element was limited and the coffee is from a coffee machine you make yourself so always pretty poor quality.

I know the clue is in the name but the view directly onto the sea is heavenly, especially because of the big balcony and French windows. The location is perfect: the sea, pier, Devonshire Park Theatre just behind. My single room with balcony, sea view and breakfast on a Friday in May was £112, which felt like good value. Staff were lovely. You can buy a parking voucher for £2.20 and park on the street just by the hotel.

Nothing to fault. Perhaps a menu outside restaurant would be nice. No sign of a Fixed Price Menu which may have tempted us in.

Excellent view of Eastbourne Pier from room. Good size bathroom. Excellent standard of fitments. Room was on the small side but adequate for our requirements. Staff were very professional. Breakfast was a particularly pleasant experience.

Restaurant. Booked an early table as we were going to a concert in the bandstand. T here were only 8 people in the restaurant, but it still took 45 minutes to serve our meal. When mine came, the potatoes and vegetables were burnt. Didn't have enough time to have dessert. The restaurant manager, however, dealt with the issue quickly and efficiently.

Upgraded to a king size, balcony room with a seaview. Spotless, well equipped, helpful staff.

The whirring of the fans within the bathroom was a little distracting and the curtains did not block all of the daylight as dawn arrived. The lighting was controlled via a series of linked switches, none of which seemed to work in a way one would expect. The seat to the desk was too low and there are no USB sockets in the room. Finally the plug socket was on the side of the bed where there was no table, forcing me to place my Apple Watch away from the bed, which is an issue as that is also used as a bedside clock when I travel.

The room was extremely clean and well laid out. The bathroom was similarly well designed and was easy to use without fear of slipping or hitting something. The hot water was almost immediate and the shower was easy to use. I also liked the towel drying line that ran across the bath tub. The bed was comfortable and at just the right elevation.

It is a lottery regarding whether you get a decent quality matress. The furnishings carpets curtains and balconies need updating and bringing up to the same standard as the very impressive architecture of the hotel.

All members of staff were very polite always professional and very helpful. The hotel is an excellent see front location close to restaurants pubs and a short walk to Eastbourne pier. The breakfast was to a good quality standard.

    Absolutely nothing.

We were given a warm welcome on arrival. Our room was spacious, immaculate and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was included and was superb in very way! We decided to stay an extra night as it was so good. We had lunch in the bar area which has windows and a balcony overlooking the seafront. Delicious food in such a lovely modern setting.
