Some of the staff need a little training in customer service. The hotel does need a revamp, the potential is unbelievable because the location, grounds and shared spaces are perfect.

The view was spectacular and the room was very large. The grounds are lovely and the 3 course evening meal was good considering it was part of a DB&B deal.

If you want posh then you need to find somewhere else and pay twice the price.

The Derwentwater hotel was in easy walking distance of Keswick Town centre via a public footpath . Breakfast was very nice with everything you could possibly want. The bar offers a wide selection of beers wines and the all important gin. Food was tasty cooked from fresh . The Derwentwater Hotel is use to serving large groups, our numbers were 20 which didn’t pose any problems.

I didnt realise how early the bar menu and restaurant closed. At that time I didnt want to walk into town. So I wished they could have given me a simple sandwich. Anything. Only other thing..I wish people would keep their dogs on a lead in the garden. But I really enjoyed my stay. A quirky and historical Hotel.

Very comfy room I was upgraded the second night because they were scheduled to have work done in the first nights room. The second night my room was lovely and overlooked the beautiful garden. All the staff were very kind helpful and polite.

Just all very tired inside and has seen better days which gives an unwelcome and untidy feeling. But won't knock it. Once refurbished and reinvested.in this will be a top location to stay.

Cheap and cheerful as they say in a lovely location we got what we expected for an overnight walking stay. The room was nice enough and the staff were pleasant and happy to help. obviously needs a total refurbishment but lovely gardens and lakeside views.

It is difficult to get luggage up and down the stairs if you have health or mobility issues. The bathroom could do with a touch up.

Our room was eclectic, but roomy and the bed was comfortable. There were different dining options which was good.

The hotel is in great need of refurbishment and upgrade !! But it was good value for money. Without the location and views we would have stayed elsewhere!!

Wonderful location & views. Short walk to lake. Lovely siting area and garden. Very helpful staff. The need for a total upgrade & redecoration was off set by helpful staff and the location

The shower we had lost pressure and went extremely hot.we reported this as concerned it could happen again but felt the member of staff laughed it off with the suggestion we had a great view.!

Always love staying here! The staff are friendly and absolutely loving the breakfast. The location with the large garden is great with the view of the lake which is a nice place to sit back and enjoy a few drinks and a bite to eat

Our apartment was unfortunately near the stair case so could hear people walking up and down the stairs. Not the fault of the apartments. I’ve stayed in lots of their apartments and they have been wonderful and quiet.

Decor all a bit 'tired' showing signs of disrepair i.e. room with a view was obscured due to condensation on windows which obviously needed replacing

Location is excellent with nice lake view from bedroom. Dinner in the bar was very good and the staff though young were extremely willing and able to help

Even as a guest you have to pay £5 per evening to park in the carpark which felt a lot considering you are a paying guest of the hotel which is on average over £100 a night! It was noisy when people walked past the room in the corridor, would sound like the door was going to be opened even though it was locked. There was black mould in the bathoom. All quite dated and looks like it would need a refurb.

The location was great, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was good value.
