The hotel is in great need of refurbishment and upgrade !! But it was good value for money. Without the location and views we would have stayed elsewhere!!

Wonderful location & views. Short walk to lake. Lovely siting area and garden. Very helpful staff. The need for a total upgrade & redecoration was off set by helpful staff and the location

The shower we had lost pressure and went extremely hot.we reported this as concerned it could happen again but felt the member of staff laughed it off with the suggestion we had a great view.!

Always love staying here! The staff are friendly and absolutely loving the breakfast. The location with the large garden is great with the view of the lake which is a nice place to sit back and enjoy a few drinks and a bite to eat

Our apartment was unfortunately near the stair case so could hear people walking up and down the stairs. Not the fault of the apartments. I’ve stayed in lots of their apartments and they have been wonderful and quiet.

As all old hotels, need some TLC but they are expensive to up keep. All very clean though and very friendly staff and can’t complain.

Lovely location and hotel. Fab grounds and hotel facilities.

Decor all a bit 'tired' showing signs of disrepair i.e. room with a view was obscured due to condensation on windows which obviously needed replacing

Location is excellent with nice lake view from bedroom. Dinner in the bar was very good and the staff though young were extremely willing and able to help

Even as a guest you have to pay £5 per evening to park in the carpark which felt a lot considering you are a paying guest of the hotel which is on average over £100 a night! It was noisy when people walked past the room in the corridor, would sound like the door was going to be opened even though it was locked. There was black mould in the bathoom. All quite dated and looks like it would need a refurb.

The location was great, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was good value.

Great location. The hotel has its best days long gone but for the few days you gonna stay there I don't believe you should complain. You are there to experience the outdoors and for that, the location etc is perfect. I have to mention the outdoor garden/space, its fabulous. We will sure use them again but maybe those apartments they have on the other side of the road this time. Staff is super friendly and they do their best to make your stay pleasant.

Car park charges wasn’t good and seemed just a money maker spin.

Old fashioned feel to the property. No airs and graces. Clean and functional for overnight stays. Plenty of hot water for bath. White towels, and bedding.

I really like this hotel but it needs some TLC. It is a bit uncared for in parts. The car park is handy and at least now free for guests but no option to leave car longer if you need to.

No ceiling insulation so could hear every footstep from above & the bathroom needs some TLC. Slightly frustrating that all the doors inside the apartment were self closing so the dog could not have free run of the apartment.

The location was perfect, only 15 min Walk into Keswick. The apartment was spacious & the kitchen had everything you'd need.

The apartment was a little in need of renovation and entrance hall was shoddy. Someone had left a muddy doggy towel draped over the radiator in the hall and the carpet was dirty. We lacked a chopping board in the kitchen and there was no wine bottle opener so I couldn't call it fully equipped. The bar had no ice for the duration of our 3 day stay.

The apartment was an exceptional size and had plenty of bedroom space, good parking facilities, and handy for keswick. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

The hotel is very tired and needs a complete makeover. The housekeeping is very poor. There was a very thick layer of dust and fluff beside the bed and the unit and a thick layer of dust on the wall. It all appears to have been surface cleaned only. Our room was classed as a Superior Double - but was pretty basic with poor quality curtains, bedding and soft furnishings. The bed was big, but very hard. The tea tray contained a few tea bags, coffee sachets, 4 milk capsules and 1 packet of 2 biscuits. The rooms are also not automatically "serviced" on a daily basis. Unfortunately we were quite disappointed with The Derwentwater Hotel.

Overall we enjoyed our stay and the location was great. The food and staff were very good.

No money is being invested to make the building more modern. The building has a Blackpool charm, old and dusty. The smallest TV and the rooms have no curtains - either it's dark or everyone can see you. Suddenly you have to pay £5 per night for parking. You find out when you get there - nice surprise.

I like the glass annex, the food from the pub is freshly prepared and delicious. A quiet location with its own outdoor area and its own little beach/access to the lake. Perfect for traveling with dogs.
