Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. United KingdomTook £30 deposit for breakages per person this was not advised at time of booking don't think there was anything in rooms worth £30. £15 per night for parking again not advised in advance so basically had to pay £150 on arrival that we were not aware of. Bar wasn't open again no notification of this when booking.
Good location. Hotel a bit dated, but was clean and comfortable.

United Kingdom£30 per person deposit on arrival including children which had to be cash. £15 per day car park (at your own risk) but it’s free on the side of the road around the hotel so might aswell do that. Per day to me means 24 hrs but we didn’t get the full duration and when asking can we stay 1 extra hour the answer is yes for £5. Delightful when you find a half eaten packet of crisps under your bed, so cleaning standards weren’t checked before we checked in, no idea how long it would have been there.
Wasn’t a bad location The gentleman who works there is very pleasant.

United KingdomFirst of all, the staff/receptionist was not cooperative at all. She wanted £60 as a security fee and I had only £50 in cash and she did not accept and asked me to bring the money on spot. I asked her to charge my card which she refused because maybe they avoid paying taxes to government. However, I arranged cash and only then she allowed me to go in the room. No toiletries at all in the toilet. The toilet flush was not in 100% working order. They don't know what customer service is. I did not know there were many hotel nearby, otherwise might have booked one, but now I know and just letting others know, book something else. Open Google maps and see the names of the hotel, there are tons of hotels there.
The area was beautiful, the city was great, very touristy and crowded at this time. The location of the hotel was great and it was near to the beach, just 2-3 minutes walk. But there were tons of hotels in the same line which yiu could try and should be better than this one.
