Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomHusband said it was more compact than he anticipated . I liked it just how it was.
It was exactly what we needed for our stay. Good location for the Yorkshire three peaks. We were doing the challenge and the offer of packed lunch instead of breakfast one day was very helpful. Breakfast was lovely the next day. Plenty of communication from owner before our stay which we found very helpful.

United KingdomNothing, really. We were too shy to bring our grubby stuff in.
Richard catered for our last minute changes. He also gave us some tips on how to climb Whernside from the B&B. We appreciate the cereals, milk and juice which were available upon check-in.

United KingdomBreakfast was really good. You have an option to go for a hot breakfast at a time of your choice and also cold breakfast to take away which you again choose from the options given. So that was amazing. And location was fantastic as I was only 15 mins drive from where I needed to be the next morning. Just one little downside though, as I got lost finding the barn because i lost connection on my phone. But I was informed about this before hand by the hotel staff and was given plenty of options in terms of which route to take and signage to follow when I get to a certain point. Which was very helpful. Thank you Richard for your hospitality once again :)

United KingdomBed creaks a little when moving about on the top bunk, but could just be my weight to be fair.
A very well organised room to fulfil a short stay, everything was immaculately maintained, the host provided everything required for our stay. It was a very warm and cosy room, with a great friendly host. Would definately stop again.

United KingdomNone to mention. All in perfect order. 👌
I absolutely 100% loved everything about the property and its location. To top this up, the host was fantastic. I received just the right amount of necessary information that I needed to prepare. I had no issues getting to the location which is an hour walk from Ribblehead and half way from Chapel-le-Dale. The property is super clean and comfy. The space is graciously designed, modern, and cosy. There is enough space for you to unpack, allowing for a tidy room. There was a fresh orange juice and milk in the fridge and selection of cereal. More than enough to get you by if you don’t want to go dine. The breakfast you get in the morning is the most delicious. Also, there is parking and a garden. I cannot recommend this property highly enough.

United KingdomThere was a small fridge in the room which kept beeping but stopped doing so after we found out that this was because of being overloaded. Stopped after we removed a few items. Otherwise we had no problems
Richard was excellent in communication of all relevant aspects of our stay. He was very helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The location was good for the 3 peaks challenge.

United KingdomMy brother and I stayed in the Bunk Room for 2 nights and were very pleased with how clean everything was. There was a lovely walk-in shower with great pressure and the toilet room was clean. Although the bunk room is quite small, space was utilised well. There was space for 2 to sit and eat the lovely breakfast that Richard made for us. There’s also a cereal selection, tea, coffee, milk and orange juice. One day we weren’t going to be in for breakfast, so Richard kindly made 2 packed lunches for us and left them in the fridge the day before, for us to take with us on our 3 Yorkshire peak challenge. The location was amazing. Very close to the Yorkshire peaks challenge and also a close drive to near by villages for food and drinks. We had a designated parking spot which was useful. Richard was very quick to respond to any questions and was very friendly and helpful in person too. Check In closes at 10pm but we were running a little late due to traffic from London. We contacted Richard and he was fine and told us all the information we needed to find our bunk. Thanks for making the stay pleasurable (After the 5 hour drive and the 25.5 mile 3 peak hike - the accommodation was the only fully enjoyable part haha)
