Very hot in the room, couldn't seem to turn heater down so had both windows open all night, luke warm water at best from bath/shower mixer tap. Appeared to be black mold on the bathroom ceiling which I didn't notice when first checking in as so tired. Was out of the door at 7am despite having breakfast included in room as didn't sleep well.

Lovely building, very historic, friendly staff. Didn't eat or drink as a bolt hole during travelling to get my head down.

No hot water in the bathroom on arrival. We had booked to eat in the restaurant for three nights but cancelled after our first meal. We both ordered the Asparagus starter, which was cold, and our main courses were also tepid It's the first hotel dinner that hasn't offered a bread roll to start with .When we asked for a roll we were presented with a small warm loaf with olive oil . It was supposed to be a special occasion to celebrate our Golden Wedding anniversary, but spoiled mostly by the expensive , not very nice food.

Paying for parking separately, surely the cost of this could be in with the room rate. Our room was a little tired. The pigeons that were around the windows at night.

The shower was excellent. The staff were pleasant. The food we had was to a good standard. The amount you pay to stay at such an impressive building was good.

Nothing - perfect

Superb location. Stunning surroundings for a wander. We absolutely loved the hotel as its old and full of character. Staff all friendly and attentive. Room service was fab.

Amazing architecture!

Lovely historic country house hotel. Shame they charge for parking! £8 - seems pretty unnecessary. There is no way of arriving at the hotel without driving as it is far from the city centre. There is no mention of this charge when I booked so what I thought was a really good deal was not quite so.

It’s a bit tired in places and there probably isn’t enough staff in all areas.

It’s a lovely old hotel in a pretty location. Staff were very helpful, especially the Receptionist.

Room was freezing even tho I had this small electric radiator. The bar is tiny which makes it a bit chaotic to get served and I would imagine it’s worse for the good staff. I just think the price is slightly too high but I’d imagine it needs to be to pay the upkeep of such and old building.

Great looking place and location for where I was working was v good. Staff v helpful and good was superb.

The menu given at the table is not the same as the menu in the room.

It was a very welcoming place with great Features but there was no access that we could see to the gardens and when we asked we were directed to the main public building that was nothing to do with he hotel.

Check in staff not very helpful and when we got to our room bed was very squeaky so went back to reception and asked to be moved which they did we paid £299 which is $NZ 600

general lighting level bit poor for people with not so good vision.

Room was a bit dark and angled bed made it a bit cramped. Bedspreads and Curtains could do with a small update.

Beautiful setting and decor! Pity work and a conference kept me away from exploring the grounds. Restaurant and Bar was excellent!

We had a small collection of ladybirds in our room, they weren’t a bother but a little unexpected.

The only thing we didn't like was that we waited about 30 minutes for our starter and more than 40 minutes for the main course on dinner

The bar was expensive, the room looked abit tired and dark, hot water wasn't great, it took ages to come through and then wasn't really that hot, we couldn't get the radiator to work, the receptionist said she had got it to come on but when we went back to our room the radiator was stone cold, we asked for a sandwich quite late and put it in our room tab and had a shock in the morning when we checked out that it cost £19.50 for 2 sandwiches, which were nice but wasn't worth that much money.

We love this hotel , the grounds around it are lovely and picturesque, the bar was open until late, staff were friendly, bed was so comfortable.

No bathrobes or slippers, for the price I paid would of expected as standard, but asked for them & after third attempt they were given to us

Beautiful room & staff very friendly. Decent drinks menu for non alcoholic cocktails & wine. Excellent food.
