*Toilet stopped flushing in the night* that said staff were made aware & were quick to advise that maintenance would be called out. This didn't affect me however as I was departing. *Very busy main road, outside the hotel that continued throughout the night, early morning. Okay if you're a deep sleeper, if not it can affect your quality of sleep.

Could do with a new bed base.. although the mattress is very comfortable. Light switch to the kitchenette is annoyingly at the far end of the room, so you have to walk in the dark to turn it on rather than it being by the door. The kitchenette has a door that leads into a public hallway and is only secured by a chain. This would be better locked with a key - there is a kettle in the door, so I'm not sure why it wasn't properly locked. However, none of the things noted here in any way detracted from a wonderful visit to this lovely hotel.

We stayed in the studio downstairs. It was spacious, comfortable, well equipped and since it was below ground and had no windows, we slept really well as it was dark and wonderfully quiet! Helpful, friendly staff and a tasty cooked breakfast and continental style breakfast buffet.. lovely location by the river and easy walk to the local pub for lovely food and drink.

I had a frail, elderly relative with me. It was time consuming to accompany him to find our rooms, and then lug our bags from the car park up the stairs to our rooms [two trips]. The offer of someone to assist with bags would have been very welcome. It wasn't possible to turn off the radiator in the en suite, which made my room very warm at night.

Welcoming check-in, clean compact rooms, excellent breakfast with a lovely welcome from the staff.

Bathroom extractor fan not working in room 8. Also no bulb in bedside lamp. Reported to manager on leaving who was apologetic and said would arrange repairs. Apparently they have experienced thefts of bulbs and tv remote batteries. Otherwise excellent place to stay for visit to Spalding.

Hotel is only a short walk from centre. Staff helpful and great breakfast.

The room smelt musty and was cold until the heating was switched on at 7pm. As we are slightly disabled, we would have preferred a walk in shower rather than a bath. There was no hand grip to help get out of the bath so if we hadn’t got one another we wouldn’t have been able to shower.

The lady on reception was very friendly and welcoming and recommended a local pub/restaurant which was only a ten minute walk. The breakfast was very good with a lot of choice. The bed was clean and comfortable and we were given a ground floor bedroom (in a separate block) as requested.

We had the best room in the hotel (junior suite), but there wasn’t a wardrobe or chest of drawers for our clothes, just a hanging rail. The patio / decking area with tables & chairs adjoins the bedroom window, so other guests can see straight in. The sofa requires its cushion seats refilling as the sponge has gone.

Only stayed one night

A lovely hotel and our room was very clean and spacious. We had a lovely welcome when we arrived and the receptionist was very helpful When we needed information . To round our stay up we had a lovely breakfast in the morning . The staff were very friendly and professional as well and .We will definitely return again .
