The bed was as hard as nails. Did not sleep well and decided to head home early rather than face another night in the bed. The hotel was a bit dated and had to ask for a hairdryer and no decaffeinated drinks in the room or sweetners. All supplied when asked to be fair.

Friendly, was welcomed and shown to room. Breakfast was excellent and service great. Local to train station and little walk into town

wonderful good fashioned full English Breakfast - set up for the day yum room was basic but good value. great location for the beach & to see other bits of Sandown

There wasnt anything we could pick fault with.

The warm welcome when we arrived. Breakfast and Bar Meals freshly cooked and tasty. Judy gave us benefit of her local knowledge and advice on things to see and places to go which was more than helpful.

No real outside space for guests to relax and have a drink in the evenings. Only a very small dark and dingy patio area, with large trees surrounding it so very dark. Sandown very run down, no where to really walk too and have a nice meal in the evenings which meant driving out all the time.

Lovely people, great welcome. The breakfast was good. Location was OK and the price was cheaper than most other hotels.

The bathroom door didn't have a lock from outside, so the door will always be open. Also the bathroom sink had separate hot water tap and cold water tap which was really difficult to use. No enough socket to charge phone/laptop.

Breakfast and the courtesy of the staff. Clean Room. Very good location.

Being ultra picky, I would have to say the en-suite bathroom in the family room was a little on the small side, especially the shower cubicle. Whilst this wasn't much of a hinderance, it did make for a cramped shower experience in the morning.

From the moment we arrived at the hotel, we were made to feel valued and welcome. Our host greeted us and showed us to our room personally. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff whilst we were there and the service we received at breakfast the next morning was absolutely on point. Location wise, this hotel is a very short walk from Sandown station, which is on the main Island Line from Ryde so couldn't be easier to get to. It is also in a very quiet road, so there is virtually no noise aside from the occasional passing car. Our room had a view looking out towards the idyllic countryside in that part of the Island, which was an added bonus. In terms of getting to the town and the seafront, this was a very short ten minute walk, so no downside to being further outside of the town at all. All in all, would definitely recommend a stay here - not ultra modern by any stretch, but definitely a character building and the prices are incredibly reasonable.

Toilet seat in the bathroom doesn't stay up when being used by a man!

Family Room and Ensuite shower room a bit cramped but adequate. A plus was enough seating to sit and read, and nice big TV. But we weren't watching it much as we were out and about exploring this lovely island, following some of Judy's tips.

Judy the landlady is truly amazing. A mine of information and a great sense of humour. And very friendly and kind. Beds comfy, breakfast v good, lovely old house (1870 - photo on wall near reception), parking ok, v near sandown train station. We went to ryde pier head, a nice little trip. Anything we needed we asked Judy - e.g. space in her fridge/freezer for meds and food/drink.
