This hostel is in THE best location and is just stunning overall! It feels like a little castle going around and exploring all the different themed rooms and staircases. It’s amazing. They also do events almost every night, so it’s great to meet people. My room had a lovely view of Edinburgh Castle as well.

The breakfast is paid as well as the towels. The breakfast is not expensive £2 but they just alow to take 1 bread.

The location is super. We could see the Edinburgh Castle through our room’s window. The facilities are very good with lot of rooms to rest. There is a luggage room without a cost. The staff is friendly and helpful. I would stay there again.

Not entirely the property’s fault — & also a caveat that I have experienced worse in other hostels — but the room smelled of body odour and clothes that need washing. Again, not the hostel’s fault but something that can be expected with having a mix of people in one room!

Value for money is incredibly high — they went above and beyond in making it feel homey and a space to meet people & make friends. My favourite in the facility are the lounges that are inviting and cosy. Team working there are also some of the friendliest and warmest I’ve ever met traveling.

Castle rock is literally the best hostel I’ve ever been to. The place is amazing, the atmosphere is fabulous, the hall is great to chill out. I would definitely come back!! ❤️

The key was very hard to open the door and locker. It would be nicer if they had a soap for shower.

So close to the castle and all other good spots in the town! Staff was friendly and nice! The interior and vibes of the building was spectacular.

My only critique is that they should put chairs inside the bedrooms for those that have top bunks and need to grab stuff or repack their suit cases as there is no where to sit to do this.

This is my choice to go to castle rock ,knowing they don't have a lift ,as I have a false leg ,they put me on the 1st floor ,so not many stairs to climb, but this as not put me off wanting to go back as soon as I can awesome hostel,

I liked the part where you can cook in a well equipped kitchen, had everything you need to cook ,staff were there if you needed help ,rooms to sit or eat in ,we're spot on

I get why there is female only rooms, and I think the mixed rooms are fine... maybe there should be guys only rooms as an option too. I found it a little annoying that I had to leave the room to change out of respect for the ladies.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The best part we were able to drop off our luggage in their luggage rooms facility and go around the city, which otherwise would've been extremely painful. Absolutely value for money.

I understand that when you sleep with 12 is a bit tricky, but should it be available more 4 pp rooms or twins..

The private room was clean but there was not even a table or a chair for the bags. The mattress wasn't the best either But for a short stay is good enough. However the rest of the hostel was AMAZING, so cool, celan and big.

The location is amazing, right in front of the castle. The vibe, the common areas, the breakfast (not pricy at all) and the piano! Also the staff knew many languages and were really kind and helpful.

The interior design was brilliant, same with welcoming and understanding staff. There was plenty room inside the hostel, and the chill out zone was the best one I’ve ever seen.

The bed could be a bit sturdier and a bit wider. The location was great but amount of stairs you have to climb everytime to get there was tough.

The vibe was really great. The staff was amazing. They had events every night which was quite fun. Overall it was a great experience to live there. Definitely visiting again.
