Easy check-in at the bar with a warm welcome. The lodge is based in a small house detached from the pub and has 4 rooms. The rooms are basic but clean and had everything you needed, even a small fridge which was very useful. About a 30 mins walk into York or hop on the bus for £2, so ideal location.

Had problem with shower not working which was intermittent hot and cold but staff did try to assist

The location was perfect for our visit (live music at nearby Bluebird Bakery). The room was very quiet and I was able to park directly outside for free! The lodge is to the rear of a nice pub with check-in at the bar. The staff member who checked us in was extremely pleasant and efficient, a credit to the bus. The accommodation is fine and we would stay again.

The bed is too low, and the mattress is far from being a decent Hypnos style mattress. You can more or less count the springs You can hear the heating circuit running

Wetherspoons type meal. Nothing fancy. The steak was warm but cooked well. The puddy was amazing.

Had the best breakfast ever, at a small restaurant in the town... Right out of the Carlton, 500yrs on the left. Sophie was great, very accommodating.

unfortunately the shower water was cold a bit picky but the pillows were too hard for our liking but did not really distract from experience

location was good for getting transport into York centre. staff were extremely friendly and chatty. check in was swift. great for leaving car in hotel grounds whilst we explored York nice big fluffy towels. comfy bed

no complaints what so ever it was a lovely place thinking off going back for a weekend next time thourally enjoyed it for the very well priced room

we, was, told from the time of check in they didn't provide a breakfast but was told about a bakery about 100 yds down the road that cooked a lovely breakfast we though the location was a it far because we decided to walk intto York but on the way back we caught no 1 bus that dropped us near the on site pub that was also very nice

The steak dinner in the Tavern. Steak had little taste. My sink plug got stuck, so I couldn't use the sink.

The room was so hot, we had to turn the radiator thermostat down and open the windows. The hot water out the shower took about 10 minutes to warm up, which made us feel bad for wasting so much water.

Lovely little separate building for the hotel rooms so no pub noise once in the rooms. There was a little communal area with an iron and ironing board which was great. The bed was huge and comfy. Lots of space in the room also. Ok location, only £5/6 in a cab to get to the train station location which was good. 20-30 min walk otherwise.

I personally prefer a firm mattress but overall good accommodation and price.

Quiet and spacious accommodation near good local shopping centre and bus into York centre. Nuclear bunker at rear of property that you can visit.

Room was tired looking and in need of a spruce up. Fridge in the room was very noisy.

Good location close to city . Staff welcoming and happy to help. Good pint of Guinness in the pub.
