How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I have stayed at the Bush manytimes but it is a few years since I was last there. They have refurbished the hotel - tastefully - and made it much more attractive wth new painnt and carpets etc without taking away the essentail character of the hotel.

The bedroom was a long walk from the breakfast room, and the bath was difficult to climb into for a shower as I found it too high.
The location of this hotel and the breakfasts are first class. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the room was very spacious. The bar area was lovely with a great atmosphere, however prices were high.

The staff made a few mistakes (didn’t add us to breakfast list despite us paying; cleaning staff walked in on us during late checkout etc) and so they promised to send an email with a reduced rate for next time. They never did. Quite disappointed as we wanted to rebook.

Breakfast was quite busy, but there were lots of options on the menu.
Location was great and the room was large, but the decor and furniture a little tired. It was great to have parking and the grounds were nice too.

The restaurant food was nothing exceptional and the breakfast best skipped, particularly given the price.
The outdoor garden area was perfect for imbibing cocktails on a beautiful summer's day. The beds were comfortable with nice linen and duvets. The location was excellent with many nice restaurants, pubs and bars in the area and easily walkable to the Farnham castle.

Pity there was no lift as I was on the 2nd floor. Apparently it is a heritage building so they can't install a lift. Not really a problem for me but it should be made clear on the website.
Large room and windows that opened! The bath and shower both good.

The keycard kept failing so I had to keep going to reception to have it reprogrammed. Very annoying as I was on top level at far end
The staff were pleasant the location was great food was good all in all a good choice

The IT needs an update the check in took forever and a slow system being blamed but it’s the longest check in I’ve had in years.
Lovely rooms in the old block I can’t comment on the newer block

We weren't told at the time of booking that there was a wedding on so the dining experience wasn't great as we were boxed in
Location - in the town but also very green, great breakfasts; room with a view was superb, a good size and in spite of the wedding fairly quiet. Check out was fast. Will stay again if in the area.

Parking was limited, but there was public car parking very close - although that did mean I woke to find my car in the middle of a classic car show!

There was no staircase and I need to lift my luggage on my own. The room was pretty small as compared the price I paid for it. I paid GBP 158, which was too high for such a small room. I was in UK for a week and travelled to Darlington and Bracknell, I found rooms bigger than this.
Location was good. Breakfast was delicious. Staff was coperative. But if there are no staircase how would we take our luggage to the rooms? Except this, all good.

I wasn't allowed to warm my food on day 2 after a long conference, yet on the first day the staff were really helpful and assisted my daughter to help me warm my food. That experience was disappointing.

There was no dressing table, we had a wedding to go to and it was very difficult to dry my hair and do my make up as the only mirror that was lit was in the bathroom but nothing near a plug to dry and straighten hair, had to stretch wires and stand in the hall looking into the bathroom!! No space for make up by the bathroom mirrors either without fear of it falling in the toilet!! Plates at breakfast were cold!
Great location, easy walking distance of lovely, pubs, bars and restaurants. Lovely hotel, nice green to sit outside in good weather. Lovely breakfast.

Entrance hall is a bit scruffy, needs freshening up. Room had old, tired furniture that needs updating.
Probably the best smashed avocado with poached egg I have ever had for breakfast. Great location with nice staff. Clean room with powerful shower.
