Was not told building work ongoing reception when arrive was to busy with her phone rather then the customer not all staff were like that and were very nice but only takes one to put a place down wouldn't even take a name for reservation when we arrived had to come back few times to get checked in

There was no forewarning of the scaffolding on the hotel so we had no daylight entering our room due to the scaffolding and cover blocking the view.

Staff were friendly and the breakfast was great!

Location is fab, 3 minute walk from New Street station and 15 minute walk to the canals. The bed was unbelievably comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful, there was a fan and an air conditioning unit in the room, perfect!

Slight smell in bathroom Cold coffee and grounds in cup. Cup had lipstick on second cup stained inside.

Shower was far too hot and no way of cooling it down - turning the tap in either direction made no difference to the temperature. Soap for washing hands was nowhere near the sink which seemed bizarre. Toilet was very low! Ordered breakfast but after waiting a considerable time we had to ask where it was (people who ordered after us were eating) by which time the tea and toast had gone and we weren’t asked if we wanted any more. Didn’t like how cereals and continental breakfast was in another room would have preferred it to be in the same room. Watched the waitress clear away a table that had had one person sitting at it. They had left. She took away the dirty plate and cup, saw the napkin had been moved but not unfolded so she just put it back ready for the next person to use. She couldn’t have known if it had been used or not!

Superb location for our trip. The room was spacious, a little old fashioned but had everything we needed. Good size bed. Parking at the Grand Central Station was easy and good location for the hotel.

As room assignement is on a first arrived first served policy (and we arrived very late on the first night of our 4 nights booking), we were given a beautiful and spacious room, but with cardboards blocked windows with zero exterior light...hopefully we were very nicely put into another open windows room the next day !

Location is absolutely wonderful, everything from shops, restaurants, cafés, touristic attractions... is within reach ! Very nice staff, room was confortable, very nice homey feeling with nice decoration, good bedding ! Overall excellent stay !

Shower dripped constantly. Broken tiling around it suggested shoddy repairs Offering fresh milk from room service is useless if room service don't answer the phone!

Excellent location directly opposite New Street Station, trams outside and overlooking New Street and the main city centre. Perfect for any business or leisure visit to Birmingham.

The hotel itself was a little dated however overall was a lovely experiance.

The Staff were excellent. Aiden was extrmely polite and helpful. We had a wonderful experiance, especially during a stressful time.

I was a little concerned that someone else was able to check into my room with only my name and no other details of the booking. This wasn't a big problem in this instance, as it was the person I was sharing the room with, but it concerns me that someone could check in with only my name. Decor was not to my taste and didn't like having frosted windows. I realise they hid an unsightly view, but I found it a little claustrophobic and would have preferred to have been able to see out properly

Spacious, clean. Felt luxurious. Aiden at checkout seemed polite and helpful. Was great to be able to secure our luggage securely after check out. Stairways were warm and welcoming, making the walk to the room pleasant. Toiletries provided were good, as were the shortbread! Either other guests were quiet, or there was good soundproofing, as didn't hear a sound from inside or out of the hotel!

Lack of tea making in room- just coffee pods. Floor was squeaky because flooring not fixed properly under carpet. No point complaining as it wasn’t going to get fixed during our 1 night stay.

Location is excellent, staff were friendly, generally opulent feel to the hotel.

The normal lift out of order which happens. We were directed to another lift which was a service lift but weren’t warned ! Just set the tone
