Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe grass was very overgrown and full of weeds. Would have been very disappointing if we had wanted to spend time in the garden, but luckily we were busy exploring instead. Long steep walk from Newlyn - need to be fit!
House was clean, spacious and well equipped- there wasn’t anything we needed that wasn’t provided. Great location for exploring the area.

United KingdomIt took a bit of strength to get the shower taps moving in family bathroom and ensuite shower room, but this may be because they'd not been used for a while. Once freed they were fine. The family bathroom did steam up a lot, even with the fan on. We had to leave the door open to clear it. Couldn't use the bath in the family bathroom as one of the bath jets was missing, leaving a hole, which looked like it had previously been the cause of wet stains on the living room ceiling. Apparently the ensuite bathroom was also very steamy, leaving the toilet roll damp. Maybe we were doing something wrong. 🤷🏻♀️
It was spacious enough we could all relax together in the living room after we'd got back from our days out. Lovely large, well equipped kitchen made cooking for all of us easy, even had 2 fridge freezers. So we were able to have one for each family. Plenty of storage space and coat hangers in the twin bedroom. We gave our 15 yr old grandson the smaller double room, which was still a nice size, giving him space to chill away from the adults.

United KingdomIt was great. The only issue was that the upstairs bathroom door wouldn’t close properly. Some more garden furniture to better soak up the sun would be nice too :)
Very spacious and modern, lovely and clean, great location. Loved the massive kitchen diner!

The property was big and felt homely, I also liked the fact the property had its own driveway. It was also near the local shops and restaurants and the beach.

United KingdomWe found the bed mattresses to be too soft, moving around could easily disturb the other person. Would definitely recommend replacing these for a medium sprung mattress for a more comfortable sleep, for all types of sleepers Overall the house was clean but there were areas that need a mini spring clean. Nothing that caused any detrimental issues to our stay but should be covered going forward. So this is more for the owners/daughter to note and to pass onto the cleaners to ensure they're doing everything required. Oven racks needed a clean but I just chucked them in the dishwasher, better to check more cleaning isn't required there. Cobwebs in radiator of main bedroom (one with ensuite), I didn't check the other rooms but it's just unsightly. No cobwebs elsewhere though just to point out 😁. Additional vacuuming in some of the nooks and crannies. I'm just a bit of a clean freak but you're cleaner needs to cover the edges of carpets properly and going around the bed legs etc. Aside from the mattresses the rest are just very minor points to help the owners.
Good location for travelling to Marazion, Mousehole, Lands end, St Ives plus a little longer but Falmouth too. House is on a bit of steep hill but we drove everywhere anyway so it wasn't an issue. Home from home in that it had all basic amenities, kitchen was fully equipped (not sure why one review said there were no pans, the drawers below the gas hobs had lots of puts and pans plus lots of equipment in various cupboards and drawers, you just had to look) dishwasher, washing machine etc. A very spacious home, two big bathrooms which was very convenient compared to other properties we viewed. Raining and very cool the first night and easily found the boiler and had it turned on to keep us warm. Would have been nice to get the fireplace going that evening but the remote control was broken, did not hinder our stay. We just used some common sense to get things like the boiler, dishwasher, bathroom radiators but can understand some others who aren't really tech savvy or used to working these things themselves might want more instructions. Once again, not the end of the world. Overall the house have us everything we needed in terms of its size, location, no of bathrooms, space and it's lovely kitchen. Would reccommend this place to others to stay.

United KingdomThe house was really lovely, with ample space and a garden with wonderful views. Our family of 6 adults stayed here and we found the space for 2 parked cars, large kitchen, living room with plenty of seating and 2 bathrooms so handy. Worth noting for anyone with mobility issues that this house is on the top of a long, steep hill.

The house beautifully clean and kept. All the extras which they leave like washing up liquid, hand wash, cleaning products and tea, coffee sugar and milk for your arrival were a great added touch. The house was in a quiet residential area in Newlyn and was a perfect distance from lots of beautiful beaches and 20 mins from St Ives and Lands End
