How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The toilet flush in our room wasn't working properly, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, still a great place but not worth it for what you pay.
The hotel is located in a lovely neighborhood and the staff is very nice.

£207 to get taxi to the airport.Ruined our weekend.

Had the 2nd floor room and it was a little warm. Thank goodness they had a van in the room.
The location was fabulous. We walked from hotel every day into the meadows and all over Edinburgh!

Its far from city center , old furniture, not clean the dust was everywhere, the bathroom wash tub was not working and 3 days no body fix it and they refused to change the room instead of that I am a female and during check out i asked in the reception some body to help me to carry my luggage from the out side stairs cause it was really bad no access for the luggage there you should carry it , take care if you have problems or you are pregnant.

Too expensive if you are looking for comfort. I was sneered at by the receptionist when requesting to change my room no. 231 as the kitchen ventilation was right infront of my window. I then got smaller room 17 which was right above the party room... 2 nights of loud partying and one morning of karaoke like church sermons. So, either kitchen smell or night club... Take your pick at the weekend

This hotel is the perfect location in Edinburgh Just south of the city and on a major bus route heading to town. The Meadows’s in the front yard.

Breakfast and restaurant could use a makeover. A bit more contemporary menu would be great. Was glad they had a few gluten-free options and the staff is very friendly.
The lobby and the room were perfect. Location even better. This is a perfect venue to explore the city and visit a conference in the same week.

- Staff was not very friendly - You cannot checkin before 3pm even if they have all the rooms vacant. If you have early flight consider different hotel.
It was warm and nice in the room though it was cold outside. Clean room and bathroom.

There was a limited evening menu which was somewhat overpriced, and had few if any small snacks. As it was in the bar I would have expected simple bar food to be available.
The ability to refuse room servicing is an excellent idea. The room was spacious and warm and comfortable. The shower was easy to access - a big plus. The location is very convenient.

I did not think that the dining room was up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. For example, diners should not have to ask for Parmesan to be served with their risotto - it should be a given.
Very handy for me, well placed, friendly staff.

Price during our weekend was a bit high, but reasonable compared to other properties. No slippers/robes.
Nice neighbourhood, a bit of a walk away from the main attractions but close to some nice, less touristy restaurants and shop. Infinite supply of marshmallows. Rooms are nice and well appointed. Feels homey.

Nothing particularly.
Huge room which had a sofa, king size bed, en-suite with bath, hair dryer, coffee machine, TV etc. Clean and tidy. Staff were very friendly. Hotel was nice and quiet but we were there in late January. We didn't spend loads of time at the hotel but the bar/restaurant area looked nice. Good location but about a 20 minute walk from the centre. Fine if the weather is dry but we had really rainy weather most of the weekend so ended up getting taxis a lot.

Stayed in the hotel twice in the space of 2 weeks, the staff that checked us in - think her name was Joanne the first time needs some lessons in customer service , she came off as being a bit rude.
Location was great, beds were very comfortable and the rooms was very clean. There was always flavoured water in the reception to drink when coming in or going out.
