Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Australia- The pillows were paper thin. Slept horrible on them - There was constant sirens all throughout the day and night (another factor that contributed to horrible sleep - place is situated close to a fire station) - Room had a fridge and fan however, both were incredibly noisy and fan didn’t work that well - Dim lighting - No bin in room or toilet, only kitchen. Quite inconvenient for ladies - Cleaners came early in the morning each day, bit disruptive. We left at checkout time on the last day and they had been there already for an hour. They were sat at the table waiting for us to leave
- Location wasn’t too far from public transport and didn’t take too long to get into the city centre - Bedroom was large and looked nice (Room 1) - Has a kitchen with sufficient utensils - Washing machine and dryer in kitchen

United StatesNo night stand for the bed. Kitchen had no real knife (only butter knifes), only 3 spoons, and one fork for 5 apartments. Sirens in the night, but that is living in the big city i guess ;)
Location was good. Everything was sufficient. It was what I expected for the price. I would stay here again.

United KingdomNo bins in the room. You have to go to the kitchen every time you want to bin something. It would be better for your cleaners and help keep communal areas clear.
Easy access, great communication, warm room, fridge in room, kitchen facilities, clean bathroom, strong WiFi (from room 1)

United KingdomThe street outside is noisy. The room was very warm but it was hard to keep the window slightly open to let any air in. So I didn't sleep well. The fridge is also noisy.
The bed was comfortable. The keypad entry codes worked. Room was as described.

GermanyNoisy! Very thin windows so you hear noises from the street and you can hear the people from other rooms. With Earplugs it is okay. The small, shared bathroom on the 2nd floor was a bit old but cleaned everyday. Very basic necessities, but was missing some must-haves. For example a bin would be nice to have, there wasn’t a bin in the bathrooms also. Very thin pillows, you had to fold them to sleep comfortable.
Good connection with public transport. The busstop is right in front. Brick lane (Shoreditch) Liverpool Street, St Paul’s are easy to reach with Bus 8 Clean room, shared bathroom was cleaned everyday Clear instructions for self check in through codes The mattress was comfortable, pillows a bit thin

New ZealandBecause the place is streetside, you can hear a lot of cars and people yelling and carrying on throughout the day, especially if you have the window open which you must do because it is quite hot. Sharing a bathroom between multiple rooms can often lead to long wait times for showers in the morning. Wifi signal okay.
Extremely easy check in service and ability to get in and out of the building and rooms. Fantastic location, close to lots of cafes and hot spots around the east side of London. It felt very self-sufficient and also had good airflow from the window and the ability to look down on the street and feel like you are really part of London.

BelgiumThe walls are really thin. We could hear the other guests at the corridor and the squeaky bed from our neighbors. The shower on the 2nd floor makes a lot of noise as well (especially if you're sleeping next to it) and became our morning clock.
Tidy room and kitchen with all the basic stuff you need (towels, blow-dryer, adapter,...).. Good located, nearby the underground where you can take the central line that takes you directly to the center. There are also some stores, pub and coffee places nearby. The staff was really helpful as well. A really good option for the price!

SpainThe pillows are very bad, almost non existent. Also the shower is either freezing or scorching hot, but seems to be a recurrent London thing
The room has everything you need, the kitchen is well equipped. Is well connected with a Metro stop near by and many buses, plus there is a very beautiful park next to it, perfect for running.
