Some large potholes on the driveway , difficult to see them in the dark.

Hot drinks where only served down downs not up stairs in function room

It's was full to capacity apparently and was crammed everywhere from non existant Restaurant tables to leisure facilities in the pool and sauna/steam activities, not ideal at the price paid !

All was very good, however no Restaurant bookings as it was full to capacity.. . . Bar meals only till 8pm with limited seating, not ideal with the nearest town away was a 20 minute round trip etc

The room was a little tired and felt it needed some TLC. Some places around the hotel were in need of a wipe over. Lots of hand prints on doors etc. Breakfast would have been better if there had been pastries left, I did ask if there were any more but staff didn't seem to know. We had Breakfast at 9.45 and felt everything was being cleared away around us. No clean glasses for fresh orange, no pastries left, we felt rushed. The hotel is located in such a lovely place, but it definitely needs a little tlc.

Location was fantastic. Especially for visiting Belton House at Christmas. Spa facilities nice for a one night break. Would have been a nice touch to have bath robes for residents. Towels in spa were a bit tatty and worn out.

The rooms had no central light just wall lights and lamps, which was very disconcerting when you came in. If you hadn’t left them on. Also, it meant the room was quite dark. Putting make-up on was not easy. Even the bathroom light had an orange hue. Very warming and comforting, but not ideal if you are elderly or your eyesight isn’t great

The food was below par. Had to return a burnt meal and the portion sizes weren’t worth the money paid plus the breakfast was cold.

Room was quite a distance from the lounge and dining room, and there was not heating on pre arrival. The bathroom towel rail wasn’t working, presumably because the fitting kept dropping off exposing the wiring (reported on check out). Small mix up over pre booked dinner time, but sorted quickly. Starter was good, but main meal a let down, first time it arrived nearly cold, on letting the waitress know she apologised and removed them to be remade. Unfortunately when the second serving came out, it became apparent rather quickly that although it had been redressed with some fresh, it had been reheated as some meat on my husbands meal had been cut it the first time. We Complained and restaurant manager( i think), he dealt with it, whilst apologising. so we left feeling let down and a little hungry. Drive to hotel long and very dark at night.

The room was better than expected and very clean, comfortable beds and pillows, a good nights sleep. the lounge and bar area were comfortable and well decorated for the season. Check in was straight forward as was check out. It was Very handy for our Belton house and the evening, Christmas at Belton light trail. Buffet Breakfast was good and plentiful.

Room on arrival was extremely cold...corridor outside was much warmer ! Requested a room change but it was denied. Had to go downstairs for a hot drink to wait for room to warm up.

The bathroom is spacious and clean, but had a few issues. Generally needs a little upgrading, but staff were willing to listen and try and help as much as they could. Perhaps a more regular maintenance check as these areas get quite heavy use day to day.

Great location, convenient and quiet. Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. Very nice restaurant with a good choice and great staff, who went out of their way to assist with whatever we required. Very comfy beds so restful.

People running and shouting along the corridors at 1am. Some staff were good whilst others looked like they really didn't want to be there.

Everything went well, from the reception I received when checking in, the bonus of an upgarade to a superior room. I did not use any of the leisure facilities as I was attending a corporate event in the area. The breakfast the following morning was great. Cannot find any fault

Room while large, was very basic, despite upgrading to a superior room- could have done with more seating and soft furnishings. Room and communal hotel areas (hallways, stairwells etc) could have done with a deeper clean.

Restaurant and bar have been newly renovated, the staff and the quality of the food were great. Excellent gym with brand new equipment.
