There’s nothing we didn’t like. Some people might struggle with the two longish flights of steps to get up to the apartment, if they’re not expecting it.

Great location, beautiful apartment, amazing views. The flat is very tastefully decorated and the owners have thought of everything you might need (including USB sockets, which we were very grateful for!). They are also very generous with provisions in both bathroom and kitchen. We really loved this property.

Nothing, you can't fault anything. The only downside is it's on the second floor, no lifts, so be aware if you can't handle carrying bags up 4 flights of stairs, but the description did say second floor apartment.

There was nothing we didn't like

We loved the beautiful, cosy apartment and the views were stunning. Pamela and Deryck communicated promptly and the check in process instructions and house manual made everything clear. The apartment is renovated to a high standard, warm, very tastefully decorated, comfortable and has everything you need for your stay, including full working kitchen, hot water, a huge bath and large Smart TV with Netflix /Prime/Disney etc. There was coffee and tea, biscuits, muesli and porridge we could use and our hosts had left us a nice bottle of wine too. We will definitely return to this apartment as we love visiting Bute.

The first impression of the entrance from the outside doesn’t give great street appeal and it was a bit of a hike with cases up two floors of stairs.

The views from the windows out front to the sea loch were, as in the title, a delightful highlight. The rooms were bright and colourful as reflected in the pictures. The bed and sofa was comfortable, and the kitchen facilities were all we needed for a two night stay to make drinks, supper and breakfasts. The glass window squares in the bathroom were a good design feature to give light to an internal bathroom. We appreciated the record turn table for a bit of fun.

Communal stair could smell a little stale but as it is shared this is understandable. (Nothing to do with the rental but it does impact those who stay: local restaurants {Caledonia Bistro & Rockabilly Diner} said they were open on their websites and / or on the opening times displayed in their windows but then did not open. They also did not return phone messages or email request for booking.)

Apartment had lovely views out to the sea. Inside everything was clean and there was everything we needed during our stay.

The weather!

Beautiful apartment with a beautiful view! It's in a quiet spot just outside Rothesay, with a nice restaurant nearby. Apartment looks brand new and has everything you need. Highly recommended if you're visiting Bute.

The seafront location with uninterrupted views. The apartment itself is spotless, light and bright. Plenty of space and everything is provided. I did drive everywhere but there is a bus stop right across the road if you want to go into the town for a meal and drinks.

It was just so nice to get a very clean apartment, that was both comfortable and nicely decorated. The view from the widows were excellent over the bay. Price was affordable. Easy parking at door.

Fabulously appointed apartment on second floor of an old building overlooking the waterfront. The view was amazing. The village was friendly. The Anchor Tavern was great fun. The post office cafe was friendly and a great breakfast stop. The drive around the island revealed all sorts of lovely things to see. The bus service into Rothesay was excellent but the walk was great too. There is evidence of investment and new business coming into Port Bannatyne and Rothesay and we'd love to return one day. Hosts Pamela and Deryck were responsive and had thought about everything to provide great accommodation.

There was nothing to dislike

The location and view is absolutely stunning. The apartment is what it says Beautiful so cosy and very clean. The facilities are really good and the hosts provide everything you need and more. The location Port Bannatyne is lovely very nice and quiet. The apartment has amazing views from every window over looking the sea. I will definitely be back to stay at this apartment the Isle of Bute is lovely. Cant wait to return

Honestly nothing. The bed is a double, I have a king size at home but the bed quality meant a great sleep.

Gorgeous modernised flat. Lots of thoughtful touches making it the best self catering accommodation I've stayed in. Easy secure access, peaceful location beautiful views. Will come back.

The heating was set to timed however it didnt come on so we had to manually over ride the system for heat first thing in the mornings and during the evenings which was all fine

We had a lovely few days staying at Upper Apartment, and there was everything we needed . The accomodation was spotless and comfortable and the views are stunning. Our communication with Pamela about the heating was easy and straightforward. A highly recommended place to stay, thank you
