Absolutely faultless.

It was a beautiful apartment. Nice furnishings and very comfortable. Ethna was a very attentive and thoughtful host. The location was amazing. Fantastic views while having your morning cuppa. Highly recommended. We will hopefully be back in the not too distant future.

Ethna was a very warm and welcoming host who made us feel very welcome. There were lovely flowers in the apartment and it had everything one might need for a few days away. The kitchen, whilst compact had everything we needed. The apartment was nicely decorated and spotless.... Loughrigg had a beautiful big bath in which to relax with a glass of wine whilst enjoying the views out over the fells ! We slept so well in the very comfortable bed. A great location literally 5 minutes from the heart of Ambleside....plenty of opportunity for walks and beautiful views. Would return in a heartbeat 💓

The steps home are not a challenge by local walking standards, but are an extra climb to be aware of after a evening beer.

Location of the house is close to the bus station, and the center of Ambleside, makes for a very simple walk in, but far enough away that parking isn't a problem. Ethna, the host, is friendly and knowledgeable, she had excellent recommendations, both for shops and walks ! My single room had a double bed, and loads of room, and an excellent shower.

What a beautiful apartment. It was so very clean and fresh. There was everything we needed for our short stay. Lounge with fabulous views, a well equiped small kitchen, beautifully comfortable bedroom and a spacious bathroom with shower. Ethna, our host is a lovely lady who was very welcoming and on hand to help if needed. Great location with beautiful views. Up a short hill but still a 6 to 7 minute comfortable walk to the shops and restaurants, even for my husband who isn't a great walker.

Barnes Fell is simply delightful. A very comfortable & charming abode with great views and an added bonus it is within walking distance to the town centre. Ethna is a charming host. Looking forward to a return trip.

Liked everything.

Really enjoyed our visit to Ambleside and our stay at Barnes Fell. Ethna was the perfect host and made us feel welcome right away. Parking was easy and the town is in easy reach. The apartment had everything that you needed and was very nicely furnished. The views from the lounge, particularly early morning is mesmerising and was so relaxing to sit and watch the mist roll down the valley whilst enjoying a morning coffee. A fabulous stay with a fabulous host. Thank you x

Beautiful location really near the centre of Ambleside. Great for the Amblefest that was on that weekend. Ethna was an excellent host, really helpful and we had a good chat! I would definitely recommend visiting!

Location is great for Ambleside , short walk down into the town centre but really quiet location , Ethna our host was fantastic making sure we were happy and went out of her way to ensure everything went smoothly with our stay , the room was spotless and we had everything we needed, allocated parking was a big plus for me .

A perfect stay. Absolutely beautiful apartment, immaculately clean and with a perfect host. There was nothing we wanted for, extras like iron, hair dryer, milk for tea and coffee, coffee and teas, flowers were all provided. Ethna’s warm welcome was above and beyond what was expected. A short walk into town with many options for food, drinks and shopping. It was the best place I have ever booked, if I could give 11/10 I would! I’ll definitely be back next year

There isn't anywhere to sit outside but it's not a great problem as we were out and about all day

The accommodation was great value as accommodation in Ambleside tends to be expensive and Barnes Fell was a better price than a lot of other self catering in Ambleside. Its good to have kitchen facilities and a fridge. The host was very welcoming and friendly. The shower was lovely and hot.

Everything! The greeting we received was great; as I have mobility issues Ethna even helped us with our bags etc. The room was spotless and in many respects the photos we saw prior to booking didn't do the apartment justice. We had everything we could possibly need for a short stay and the location is great with absolute stunning views.

We booked an apartment and a single room for our stay. We liked everything about the accommodation. It is cosy, super convenient and comfortable. Ambleside is pretty with easy to access to scenic hikes and historic attractions. Barnes Feel is only 2-3’ walk into Ambleside town and bus station. The host - Ethna - was super helpful. We would rate her hospitality six stars if we could! She made us feel like home, provided us everything we needed, and allowed us to leave the luggage there after we checked out. Highly recommended!
