Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomJeremy and Tomas were absolutely lovely hosts. They were both extremely kind and helped us plan our day when we were at the property. The highlight of the stay was the stunning breakfast- it was one of the best we have ever had. The room was very thoughtfully put together. The property is extremely well-located. Overall, this was a truly memorable experience.

Aviemore is exceptional. We loved the homemade and homegrown foods served at breakfast that made the stay so unique. The hosts gave us great advice on going to the nearby beach without a car.

On arrival we were warmly welcomed and was made to feel very welcome. Very informative on Rye and places to eat and drink. Also was very helpful in taking luggage to our room. Breakfast was very good, all healthy and nutritional with an explanation of each food and acompliments to go with each dish. The Breakfast was presented beautifully and was very tasty. All about our stay was exceptional and look forward to returning when visiting Rye again. Thank you both for looking after us.

AustraliaAccess to the property may be an issue for some, but it is easily overcome.
We can’t say enough about The Aviemore Rye!!! It is a truly all round experience from the location, the decor, the care and attention to detail and the advice and information that Jeremy and Tomas provide. We weren’t too sure about what to do, but after hearing our do’s and don’ts Jeremy sat us down and guided us through the street map of Rye, pointing out the best points of interest and places to eat and drink. And breakfast is an experience in itself!! Tomas is clearly passionate about what he provides and explains everything in great personal detail. Everything is edible except the leaves!!

The hosts are very helpful and friendly, the breakfasts are INCREDIBLE and everything is homemade, including the jams, bread, and amazing nut butters. We got great recommendations for Rye, and detailed instructions for a fantastic walk to Winchelsea Beach, and the flask of coffee and apples they provided us with were so thoughtful and invaluable! United KingdomThank you to Tomas and Jeremy for creating such a special place. We had such a great time staying here. Everything in the house feels carefully chosen to create a beautiful, calm and comfortable space. It’s easy to feel relaxed. Jeremy and Tomas were so helpful with ideas of places to visit , eat and walk. And last but not least the breakfasts were the best ever. We chose the Czech cooked breakfasts - it was exciting to try something new and delicious. But on top of this was the day’s fruit selection, home made breads and spreads. And the whole set up of the table and breakfast room. And Tomas’ explanation of the foods he had chosen and dishes created. So beautiful. So special.

Where to start? The Aviemore is perfect, and Jeremy & Tomas could not have done more for us! Everything at the Aviemore is truly lovely, no stone is kept unturned to achieve ultimate guest satisfaction! It's the essence of great hospitality! Both my partner and I really do enjoy good food, and we had to agree that even though the restaurant recommendations for Rye were spot on and all delicious, we thought that the breakfast at the Aviemore deserved the top spot in our ranking :) We would highly recommend anyone to stay at the Aviemore when in Rye. We will most certainly be back!

We absolutely loved the guest house. It was very clean, rooms cleaned every day mid-morning and tastefully decorated. The place was also very quiet so it's great if you need a trip to relax. The breakfast offered was amazing and extremely personalised based on how you prefer things, including eating in your own private breakfast room. I've included photos of the food as we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.Jeremy and Thomas were extremely welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Will definitely book again when visiting Rye.
