Our room over looked on to bins and the noise of the bins in that area kept us up all night. flip flops should maybe be included for the spa as our feet were freezing walking around. Breakfast was nice however there could be more gluten free or buffet options for the price of it

The reception staff were brilliant. The girl that helped us during our stay was fabulous. The spa was nice. It was a great location to explore and return to the airport. Breakfast was nice. The room was nice and loved that there was a fridge.

we were not aware that the restaurant was under redevelopment and breakfast was served in quite cumbersome e environment but food was ok we had some problem with double charging of the stay, but that is/was sorted out :)

The view we had was of the alley, but we didn’t really mind since they allowed us to check in very early so we could drop our things and go see the sights before we ran out of energy!

The staff were wonderful - they went over and above to compensate for a relatively minor inconvenience of having no cable to watch tele in the evening. They not only made our airport taxi arrangements, set up the wake-up call but packed us breakfast bags to go since we had a very early flight.

The breakfast and coffee was very good until the construction of the restaurant. It changed from delicious to very low average . The elevator didn’t work for a day and kept changing when you got in from going up to going down and up for everyone which was inconvenient. Staff excellent. Location excellent. Beds and pillows excellent. We had a nice view and airy room excellent. Quiet room excellent

The sofa bed in the family room wasn't too comfortable but manageable for the 1 night we were staying. Also the fact that the room had two small windows very high up on the wall, no views, it was fine for a short break but would have been annoying if we were staying longer.

Location was great, the room was very clean and the fact that they can store your bags for a few days was perfect. The staff were very very nice and helpful too.

I was confused that the hotel did not have a bell person to help with luggage. Nor, did they have valet parking. I had to download an app.. drove the car to the parking lot. Walk a short walk. Which wasn’t the problem. I ended up in a back alley with trash cans. I thought I was going to get mugged.

It was right in front of the jump on jump off bus tour.

The bed was comfortable but the pillows were not; too large and not real down, so I had a sore neck. The bathroom could be better ventilated, and our shower drained slowly.

Lovely old building facade augmented with modern bits behind. The bar area is a grand and lovely room with great service from friendly bartenders. We loved ordering room service breakfast, it was a great convenience on days busy with tourist outings where we had an early start. The pool and spa facilities were better than expected, with the sauna properly hot later in the day, great for a wind-down from the day before dinner. Bed was comfortable and we loved having a proper bathtub in the room, in addition to the shower. Amazing location: minutes walking to Princes, Waverley, Calton Hill & the path to Holyrood, St Andrew's Square and the way to Leith, and just 15 minutes on foot to the old city & St Giles.

The location is amazing, close to popular places and a train station. Definitely recommend. The bed is very comfortable.

No Netflix or equivalent to watch and the chair was fixed in a very low position which is awkward when you are 190cms tall.

Just a superb setting to visit Edinburgh with a heated pool and spa as well. Very comfortable bed and great shower/bath. Room service also excellent and well priced.
