How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There appeared to be ?indoor pool at the back of the apartment (not in use) with a locked door and small viewing window. Issue for me was window. This window had a blind but the closed blind was in this pool room. It needed a blind on the apartment side of the window also, as although this other room was not in use, it felt rather odd for me personally and is something that could easily be rectified.
Clean, warm, had everything needed for short trip (2 nights as visiting NEC).

Minor details really. I'm not complaining more sharing feedback for improvements. Due to the current weather, the room was very humid and stuffy. The small fan available stopped working properly, and although my host took action to repair it broke again after a few hours, I felt too embarrassed to report again in the middle of the night.. I'm sure this will be rectified now that it's highlighted. Shampoo dispenser was empty. To the reader, please don't be put off by these comments. I'm just being picky.. this property is highly recommended.
Fresh, clean, comfortable, spacious apartment. Very freindly host, very quick on responses. Outstanding value for money. I spend a lot of time in hotel rooms & have had some really disappointing experiences costing 2 to 3 times more than this stay. This was a refreshing change. Highly recommended.

Not having a 'proper' shower (it is a bath with an attachment), noisy trucks at 4am on the road outside...that was only to first night - 2nd night was fine.
The finish was spot on, fixtures were very nice, location was perfect for what I needed and Adam was a really nice guy.

Fully self-contained apartment with everything we needed. The access to the apartment was secure, and sheltered from extremes of weather: It was also a good place for just sitting out on dry and sunny days. Clearly the owner has put a lot of thought into how to make best use of a linear plot, and it's wonderful, with however much intimacy a couple might want - full length curtain around free-standing bath for those who might feel so inclined, and if you move them out of the way, there's a large mirror on the opposite wall! The large TV was an eye-opener for us, as ours is the size of a cereal box, but it suits the room. And the overhead bowed lamp, with three brightness settings, was perfect. The microwave and fridge are concealed in the large pantry-style cupboard not too far from the sofa which makes for easy snacking and tv-dinners in the evening.

The property was very clean and comfortable, I have stayed in many places due to working away in Birmingham and never felt so comfortable, such a shame this property is always booked up or I would book every week. the owner Adam was in contact before I arrived and when I left to make sure I was happy with my stay, amazing customer services.

Only criticism (and it’s a very picky one so would not prevent me from returning) is that the bathroom sink is rather small.
Very modern fixtures and fittings, super comfortable bed (with four pillows - bonus!), lovely little outdoor area, free off street parking, lovely touches like all bath products (eg shampoo and conditioner etc) provided free, fridge, microwave and crockery, cutlery and glasses. Not to mention the most amazingly HUGE bath. Also 55” smart TV and amazingly fast free WiFi. Great property. Will definitely be back!

Very clean and cosy with all the mod cons and a lovely big bathtub! The host communicated really well and if I needed anything he would respond and help near enough straight away. My stay couldn’t have been any better and would definitely stay again next time I’m in this neck of the woods 👌
