How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Everything! It was spacious, comfortable and spotless! The groceries were a lovely touch! Lovely balcony for morning brews, was like being on holiday! Walking distance to all the shops, cafes and the wedding venue we attended.

Parking spaces were a bit restrictive. If we were a multi car family then we would have struggled to manage the cars.
Location was handy for the town centre, pubs, restaurants and supermarkets. Property was spacious with everything needed for a self contained vacation. Welcome Pack was generous containing all you need to start you break.

The owners were really good in their contact and information. Upon arriving there the apartment was clean, it had wifi and they also left things like soap, shampoo and conditioner, butter eggs bread as extras. We loved it and we will be staying there again as we also have friends in wetherby.

The back of the property faced onto another property that had a very bright night security light on that shone into the back (children’s) bedroom. It would benefit from a blackout blind or curtain so the room is dark at night.
We really enjoyed our stay in this clean and recently refurbished accommodation with Sky and Netflix. It enjoys a fantastic location and it was good to have free parking for two cars. What a fabulous touch to arrive to fruit, milk, bread, butter and tea/coffee. The communication with the owners was also excellent.

Everything was great. A bin in the bathroom would have been useful.
Location was good. Very close to the town. In walking distance. Very clean and comfortable. Kitchen facilities were great. Simple but very pleasant decor. Excellent stay.

Property itself was ideal for us and we have no complaints. Only issue we had is a lack of cabs for a family of 5 to the venue but that’s no fault of the property and wouldn’t deter us from staying again should we need to.
Lovely, clean property with parking and easy access to local shops/facilities. Ideal for our family of 5 with close location to a nearby venue we attended a wedding at. Very comfortable beds, lovely thoughtful welcome package and a great shower. Very peaceful stay.

Single beds a little small Light from opposite the bunk bed bedroom shone into the room on a night Could do with a curtain on balcony door. Also could do with a bin in bathroom.
Location was excellent, rooms where very nicely decorated, and the facilities where spot on, milk, shampoo, cupboard accessories, family games and lots other stuff.

Location very close to town center, only a 5 min walk. The accommodation was very spacious. Owners left lots of basic supplies, bread, milk, fruit etc. Would definitely recommend.

Beds were uncomfortable, we could feel the mattress springs. Would appreciate better mattresses for future travellers.

I wouldn't recommend staying here if you want some peace and quiet. The hair salon below doesn't have a set closing time and you can hear everything in the apartment. Extremely loud talking and loud music until 9:30pm

Poor pillows and bedding. Nice cotton, ironed sheets of better quality, and plumper pillows would make all the difference.

Had to Pay £60 extra because of mix up with payment. Host unable to help, but it was there property??? Decoration was unfinished in places, walls had 2 different shades of paint and scuffed. Only blinds on windows so Street lighting shone through

only one tea towel, and an oven tray ( we had pizzas one night) and some oven gloves would’ve been really useful.
very convenient for our trip to Tockwith Motor sports centre; the apartment is exceptionally clean and newly decorated and the host left us with a generous welcome gift of fruit, milk, eggs and bread.
