How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Very friendly and helpfull. Many breakfast options. We even got recommendation of restaurant or places to visit. The place is quite, the shared spaces are clean, there's a spot in the bedromm with tea, coffee and other thing to drink and eat. We had a few problem with our car (rented) and they helped a lot. We'll come back for sure ! Thanks again !

The only niggle was the sound of the road at night that I could hear from the room.
Spotlessly clean with all amenities. John and Susan the hosts were so friendly with advice about the local area. The breakfast was first class.

The location was a bit of a walk from the city centre. Ordinarily we would have happily done the 20 minute walk into the city, but we had been cycling all day and were ready for a rest. The pub across the road served food and saved the day 😊
The room was very clean and well equipped. We were made very welcome and were able to store our bicycles safely in John's garage. We would definitely recommend.

Everything was perfect! We were warmly welcomed, the room is lovely, clean, with everything you need (tea, coffee, shortbreads, shower gel, shampoo, toothbrush etc), TV with lots of DVD available. Bed is comfortable. Access to microwave and fridge The breakfast was huge, traditional scottish breakfast so we tried the haggis. It is 20min walk from the City Center in quiet streets. We definitely recommand this B&B and will come back !

Nothing! It was perfect!
From cleanliness to hosts, everything was beyond perfect! I and my friend stayed at their place on 27th-28th March. Our hosts sue and her partner were super warm, welcoming and helpful. They went above and beyond to make the stay for me and my friend memorable. They helped us with our early check in request to making sure we are well fed and ready for our trip in Inverness.the room had all the amenities you could think of and the place was sparkling clean! Next time would not look for any place else whenever I’m in Inverness! Thank you very much!

Everything was stunning. Super comfortable and cosy. I lacked for nothing. Delicious breakfast, and really appreciated the generous takeaway breakfast as well - amazing scrambled eggs!

Warm welcome on arrival and my stay was incredible value. I had a spacious double room with everything I needed and breakfast was excellent. I was a bit nervous about the shared bathroom but it was spotlessly clean. The location was great for me as I visiting a patient at Raigmore Hospital (less than 10 mins walk) but the city centre was also easily accessible. Would definitely stay again.

The breakfast was slightly late in relation to the time originally agreed. Other than that very minor detail, I can't really fault the service overall. I feel thankful about it.
I found the hosts friendly, talkative and approachable. The rooms were cosy and homely and the bathroom was spotless...

Incredibly welcoming but not over the top, this b&b was perfect for a night before some camping further up the coast. Shared bathroom was no issue and everything was spotless. The room was very cosy and had all the amenities. A really excellent breakfast with such care for dietary requirements and making sure everyone was well looked after. Would book again any time.

Everything is so clean and new. The breakfast was made in the moment and the owner was very nice and patiently asked all the questions prior our arrival! The toilet is share but you can’t feel it. Its so clean and we never had a problem of using it. Definitely I will back and I recommend 100%

Having a shared bathroom although not a problem, does detract from the privacy aspect of the stay. Also the front bedroom is on the road side.
A wonderful place, they've done everything possible to make it a top notch B&B. Great food, comfy room, space to park and easy to find. A very welcoming home. Thank you
