How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We had a 2 bed apartment but there was no door to the main bedroom for privacy
Clean and close to the airport, no need to check in the room was open and ready for us when we arrived

Excellent facilities and comfortable. The room was clean and well furnished. Great as it is only two miles from the airport. Close to other attractions like Bath and Bristol.

Having our name displayed on.arrival raised issues for data protection, better communication about check in (which room and how to check in) could have been emailed. A small fridge in the room would have made a big difference.
Location was excellent for the airport, quiet rural setting. Room clean and very good bathroom/shower. Fun to see the goat and hear the animals, lovely to be on a farm setting. Very convenient for an early departure for airport as just left the room on check out. Plenty of parking. Excellent pub a short walk away had a fantastic menu for evening meals.

Very close to the airport, no reception with own front door, so didn’t disturb anyone. Jouice and cereal bar left for breakfast a nice touch.

Uber didn’t want to come out to the property for some reason. 3 cancelled before one came. The properties are still being built on the site but I’m sure it will look great when it’s all finished
Great location near the airport. Clean, easy no contact check in. Very quiet.

Music from nearby venue did go on past midnight - not linked to accommodation.
Superb location for airport. Lovely surroundings with walks into countryside just outside the door. Relaxing feel to the accommodation which gave holiday a good start.

Bit hot overnight, potentially a bit more guidance about adjusting the temperature but not a big issue as we were not there for very long.
Really liked the location, the facilities, and the closeness to the airport parking.

Hillcroft Apartment was clean, comfortable and well appointed for a night’s stay. It was very quiet. It was nice to be able to regulate the heat on a chilly evening and be able to turn it down for sleeping in a more cool environment. Communication about arrival, and a quick question about transportation, were clear and easy to follow. I strongly recommend Hillcroft apartment for a pleasant overnight stay near the Bristol airport.

Super comfy hotel, really convenient for travelers that want to stay near the airport (you need a car/cab to reach it). Its setting is dreamy and quiet, right in the countryside.

Very noisy water pump but not a big problem.
Location was amazing. Not just about being close to Bristol Airport but the countryside around it. Loved the cockerel!

The accomodation itself was as described and very nice. However, finding what was needed in the accomodation was not as expected. We only found the seperate kitchen area in the morning, hence decided to not eat our own food but eat in a restaurant. There was still documentation on covid, so a bit outdated. A lot of what is not allowed, abd assocuated fees if violated. We kindky ask the owners to put themselves in the shoes of someone being first time in UK and describe along. e

Some shelves in shower room… not a fan of wet rooms, would prefer an enclosed shower. I am inclined to fall a lot and there was quite a lot of water from my companion taking a shower. I was too nervous to take one

We didn’t realize how remote the property was. Without a car we had to pay for taxi service to and from the airport. Also the closest restaurant was about a mile and a half walk to get there. It would have been a good choice to stay if you had a car.
The property was very clean and the farm setting was charming.

It was not clear where to park. Due to some poor parking, there wasn't room to park where other cars were. As I was departing early the following morning I parked close to the door into my room, but it was not ideal from.
It was convenient, comfortable and spacious. Instructions for arrival were clear and it was easy to find.
